Hey,

I've got a S2 RB25DET and i'm basically chasing 300rwkw. As for mods i'm not 100% sure on what i'll do, I'm after opinions on what would be a succesful way of reaching my target.

Rough idea:

Spitfire coilpacks

Tomei Poncams

Tomei adj cam gears

555cc injectors

Walbro fuel pump

Pod filter ( already done )

Fmic ( already done )

Front facing plenum

3inch turbo back exhuast with hi flow car ( already done )

Nismo fuel reg

Nismo oil pump

I'm unsure of turbo setups to run, I want something responsive with a decent power output i have a few in mind but please opinions, and also the same for ECU, this is the first turbo car i'll be modifying and its going to be a build and opinions would be nice. I know i'll need a good tuner aswell

As i said i'm chasing 300rwkw, twin plate clutches would support that?

How much are you prepared to spend? You can go from reasonably responsive 300-ish kw all the way to ultra responsive 300+kw and spend a very different sum of money.

An outright optimal 300kw setup would feature 6boost twin scroll manifold with twin wastegates, EFR7670 turbo, G4 Link ECU with Link boost control, a set of ID1000s and a Walbro E85 friendly 400+lph fuel pump. Then you could go E85/flex fuel and make well over 300kw...

if your in brissy you can use eflex, so forget the 555's and go 1000's, you could basically copy my setup without the gtx, cams and external gate.

a 3076 with 0.63 on eflex for maximum response and hit the 300kw.

If you MUST get 300rwkw on 98ron then a 3076 (56 trim) 0.82 is the minimum you will need. Even then you might not get there and depends on dyno as much as engine/tune. If you get a good exhaust manifold and use an external gate then you'd be more sure of making the magic number, but you'll still need the 0.82 and 1.3 bar.

A stock engine will last OK for street use, occasional track days and depends on how you use it/abuse it.

Also need 600+ cc injectors, perhaps the 740cc Nismo to allow E85 use in future?

I've got some side feed 880cc injectors and a 3076R .82 about to be hitting the for sale thread.

They are off my RB25 which was making 306kw at 16psi. Std plenum, std cams, 3inch exhaust.

Pm me if interested.

Pretty good power at 16psi, who tuned it?

I've got the 3076 on mine, with 555cc making 275rwkw, hoping 1000cc and a hiflow cat can get me 300 without e85

555's are enough for 300kw, probably not the issue, mine was limited to 280kw, tuner said some rb's can take more timing and others cant so dont expect things to change just like that, but obviously the exhaust must flow well..

Pretty good power at 16psi, who tuned it?

It was Unigroup or Jem, pretty sure Unigroup. I saw the dyno sheet when I bought the car off the previous owner.

Will be hitting the dyno again sometime next month once.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
