Well, the day I thought would never come, has finally came. This afternoon I officially handed the keys of my beloved R33 GTS-t (better known as R33JET to some) to its new owner to embark on its new life. Since I never made a Build Thread, I guess here's a quick summary on what will probably be the last topic I'll ever post regarding the R33 boat.

Since purchasing the car 3 years ago stock as a rock, I've modified it with the intention of keeping the car for quite literally decades lol

But as most people know, circumstances change and before you know it, somethings gotta give.

In this case, it was the 33. Having two cars, two insurance bills, two rego bills and two fuel bills just didn't sit right, especially when one of the cars gets less than 5000kms a year under its belt (the R33 if you're still wondering).

Over the years, I've met an amazing bunch of people via SAU and though I will probably be on the forums even less than before, I'll still be lurking around every now and then (mainly in the Wasteland threads hahaha).

To everyone who have helped me with my car over the years, a big thanks to you guys, couldn't of done it without you.

Also a big thanks to Rob down at Sabbadin Automotive, he has been an absolute champion and even though I don't have the ol' 33 anymore, I'll still continue to have him work his magic on my dirty 6-litre VE SS-V (he loves this car..... not  hahaha ). To anyone who hasn't given Sabbadin Automotive a go, I urge you guys to give him a try. His work is second to none and is down-to-earth easy to get along with. Always have a good laugh with him everytime I pop down

I chose to drop the car off at the buyer's house for two reasons:

1. They lived on the other side of the city and I thought I'd help them out by driving it to them

2. I didn't have to see the car get driven away.

I hope the new owner takes good care of the car, the same way I have over the years. For those that know me, know how much I baby this car (I'm usually the slowest on cruises because I simply refuse to boot it to catch up lol) so I can only hope the new owner looks after her well by treating her with the utmost respect and not just a car to thrash about and beat up.

The car makes a bit over 300kw @ the rear wheels so hopefully the new owner is an enthusiast and not a "hoon", as I'd hate to see the car get impounded, blow its motor or worse.

Next project? Looking to focus on buying a house first, then maybe in a few years I'll begin looking for another car. If my R33 came back up for sale again at the right point in time, I would definetly be interested in buying it back.

However, chances of that happening are very slim so I guess the two most probable options are either a Bayside Blue R34 GTR V-Spec II or a Devil Yellow 2005 HSV GTO Coupe.

Sorry for the long and boring read, but I guess this is a new chapter of my life. Days of opening the garage door and being greeted by the iconic stovetop tailights for me are over. Nothing there, but just an emtpy parking spot now.

This mad me sad & I've only had my Skyline for 2 years. :(

Lovely looking car. You'll be back.

Its also getting harder to keep a modified import on the road with all the bullshit revenue raising, unless your willing to put up with all the defects and bullshit.

The only regret i have is the price i sold mine for, could have gotten a decent amount more (it sold in 24 hours to the first person who looked at it) but i was over it, was just a big headache for the last couple of years.

I would much prefer to see a bayside blue 34gtr getting around (although im sure you wont be buying a house in this neighborhood) than a 2 door commodore :)

I see a little of my work in that bay. :)

Sad to see you selling it mate, not many out there with such attention to detail...

Yep, still rocking some of the work you did for me Scott. Thanks heaps for all the help, especially with the amount of times I needed stuff on short-notice lol

Great post!

Clean R33, not many clean ones around

Sad to hear though :(

I sorta know how you feel, cept I had mine for 7 years

Unfortunatly, that's the truth. Too many banged up ones getting around which sell for dirt cheap, which means well-looked after ones can't even demand the price they should :(

Thanks mate. Well I'm hoping in a few years time I'll get back into either a R34 GTR or a HSV GTO Coupe but will wait and see :) besides, the SAU forums are HEAPS better than any other Holden/HSV forum I've been on haha

Did you end up reverting it back to sell with RWC? Or leave that up to the buyer??

Sold as is, RWC left to the buyer :)

Wow I didn't know there was this much work!

Thanks mate. Made it that much harder to let go though :(

you mean R33JET "the second" is no more...the original R33JET died years ago :P

Hahahaha that's true

:/

Word.

Within 24hrs? Wow, that was a quick sale lol

Yeah, not buying a house in that neighbourhood haha :P I'll have a few years to think about what the next project is, whether a 2 door commo or a GTR lol

Hey man

Rest assured ill be looking after it aswell as you did, Hopefully you might see it around!

Just going to send you a couple of q's aswell via pm

Hey hey, good to see you made it on SAU!! Too easy mate, fire away.

HSV GTO Coupe is the way to go mate. I see these being worth big $ one day personally

No doubt about that at all, hence why it's such a consideration haha

Buy this. Only 120 of them in the wild. Ahhh, if I had the cash spare.

http://www.carpoint....65530&silo=1011

I was actually thinking about them but going by some of the reviews, the AWD system is quite primative and other than off-the-line launches, is quite nose-heavy into corners. Def no GTR by any means in terms of the handling stakes :( if I was flailing around in cash, I'd still get one though haha ;)

GOOD LUCK TO THE GUY RWC'ING THIS.!!!!

sad to see her go mate.

Hahaha the guy is pretty handy with the spanners so pretty sure he's got it all sorted now :) yeah, I know mate. Would.ve lo ved to of kept her for years to come but I guess life just pans out the way it does ey?

why? it's totally stock

IMG_4285.jpg

Baahahaahahhaahhaahah

like.....totally !!!
honestly officer... it's a limited edition

Full factory spec. Only mods are the window tint and the air filter :whistling:

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
