Hahahahah, what a bunch of tryhard jokes, painful to go through them to see if anyone actually knew the answer but of course they did not. Interesting question, politicians would not write them though so that answer is wrong. I'd guess that an engineer, the Transport and Police mobs would be involved. Perhaps when the juveniles go back to school someone who actually knows something will respond.

Seems like a try hard answer...

Your guessing.. So you don't know either.. Thanks for your reply

This

I love to drop the creater of all these stupid laws a interesting email.

Go for it.... some reading for you.

And in answer to your question - it will be a specific policy unit within the RTA.

To make it clearer- its not the police, and its not the politicians themselves. The Laws would be drawn up by the dept, for submission.

Maybe you should "right" a letter to your local state member of parliament outlining your concerns, and post it off. After you could find a exposed bit of hill on a windy day, face the wind and urinate.

If I was limited to one guess I'd say, "Pedestrians"

jk

LOL Terry, that was my first thought too! That 'lil know secret society responsible for the demerit point system AND double demerit weekends, namely, The Pedestrian Association of Australia.

Well, we know it wasn't Queensland that led the way, your regulations can be so backward that they were probably written by juveniles on school holidays!!!

My best guess would be a group of engineers, in collaboration with the rms(formally rta).

in relation to atmo bovs.

1, would be primarily noise.

2, being part of the intake system, on the pressure side, after the turbo, this is also after the pcv, which vents oil/fuel vapour from the sump.

this contains unburnt hydrocarbons, which are a form of pollution.

might be very small, but it all adds up.

This is the very same reason you have a charcoal canister and fuel tanks are no longer vented.

Oh, we also don't have it as bad as other states.

eg, afaik, Vic, can't get non af metered cars passed engineering.

Qld, illegal to have ANY nitrous components in the car, NSW, allowed so long as disconnected.

Yes it's sternly worded because I'm serious. i was defected and I don't care what laws there is my car was safe 100% all I don't agree with those dickhead with the wheels hanging out the front like a go cart now that's just silly.

Not too late to set up a political party.

Better than watching pollies kissing babies for another 6 months.

And may I take a stab at the fact that there are more motoring enthusiasts than shooters.

Is that what I've been doing wrong!?

Any other tips?

you need rock hard suspension for less body roll.

and a massive cannon so pedestrians can hear you coming.

*sarcasm for those who cant tell*

Laws are written by the We Want Your Money department.

Only have a small amount to do with actual road safety.

In NSW, get done for 2 defects, get fined more than if low range DUI.

Absolutely no logic there.

We, boys and girls, are what is called a soft target.

It will only get worse until we are all driving beige Camrys.

Witness the new Qld laws.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
