And one more update for the weekend.

Found this while sorting out all the parts that need to be relocated.

Forgot I bought it - Standard Airbox with Snorkel and new Blitz Filter Element. Getting rid of the K&N pod filter setup that it came with. No benefit at the power levels i'm looking at.

She has been moved into storage until the rebuild in July. Folks need to get some work done to their garage and they've let me store it in there for 7 years for which i'm grateful.

Thank god for having a mate with a big shed though!

Looking forward to some more updates mate! Awesome build!

With the engine build does that include labour to take engine out/in and tune? And how many different stages do racepace do?

Man nothing better looking than a black 32GTR. Epitome of TUFF!

I was thinking the same thing when you posted the recent pics of yours. Yours looks awesome with those skirts and wheels.

Great build mate, love the black GTR. Nice choice on the -9's too, if I had the cash they are exactly what I would use on my 260. Response and Power :)

thanks dude :)

Yes, that cost includes engine, out/in and tune. I started doing engine out on mine but then abandoned the idea as i'm poor for time atm and it will create too much of a mess for the workshop to work with

.

There is also a Stage 2 and that's a 2.8L (about 14K from memory). Dunno about Stage 3 but i'd say that'd be 3L? I'll ask next time i'm around there.

Black.
GTR.
Fitment.

So - now I'm jealous.
And I wish I had the money upfront to fix my GTR.

Saving sucks. :-(

She looks stunning mate. VERY clean, hope to cruise sometime.
Two black on black, with added black GTR's would be a cool sight. ;-)

any updates?

Not much to update atm unfortunately. Lifes been a bit hectic (in a good way). Got my bucks this weekend. Going to get married in mid June and honeymoon straight after that. Car and all parts are currently sitting in a large shed....waiting, waiting.

Will try and get to the car and sort out all parts and get the fuel system sorted, hopefully before the wedding, ready for the rebuild. N1 Engine is getting dropped off early July to begin the build, followed by the car when they need it.

Damn. This is the end, I was only just getting in to it. :(

Awesome build so far man, I can't wait until you start the re-build. :)

ETA on rebuild?

Spent some time yesterday at the cars temporary resting place, sorting out the parts. Removed the 17" TE37 that couldn't be balanced. Will drop it off this week to get repaired.

(all the stuff stacked behind the car front left to right are parts)

Well getting married this weekend so will be away from anything car related for a couple of weeks then.......REBUILD TIME!

In the mean time considering what to do about the seat situation.

Currently have twin Sparco Pro 2000's with custom seat rails by Meridian Motorsport. (not adjustable, bolted in)

Considering selling these and getting R34 GTR seats. I figure they'll be great for daily driving and tracks days too. Thoughts?? I'm not the biggest fan of the standard 32R seats.

Yeah R34 GTR seats are nice but there are other options too like recaro and bride. Hav a look around first.

Condolences on the wedding one step closer to death for you my friend......

joken..... Congrats and enjoy the day!

    • Wow ELVIS. You have an....interesting approach to conversation. Did you not notice that I wasn't talking to you?
    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
