34GeeTeeTee
He mentioned having trouble with the rear main, I'll line it before removing the old one and make sure it all looks right Or just get a bigger hammer! 34GeeTeeTee
I'll get my matsuri hammer Oh shit... I purchased one of those a while back, have used it for random jobs around the house, yet to touch the car with it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/421419-timmys-r34-gtt/page/8/#findComment-7220708 Share on other sites
timmy_89
Finally got some spare time and started looking at my Defi's and trial fitting them. I am going to attempt to leave the cups on them and get a thin bit of steel rod to put through the mounts to help with aligning them together easier, I'll post pics and let you know how it goes. timmy_89
My first lot of deliveries for the week turned up. Gearbox oil (Redline Lightweight Shockproof), all new seal kit, clutch alignment tool (which as I mentioned turns out I'll be getting with the clutch anyway haha ) and also a magnetic sump plug which I will chuck in next time I drop the engine oil. timmy_89
Guess what arrived today Also, been chatting with a guy who took photos of my car at the hill climbs and am getting a copy of them all at the end of the week. He emailed me this one shot though, caris squatting nicely Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/421419-timmys-r34-gtt/page/8/#findComment-7224273 Share on other sites

timmy_89
So, I finally got around to fitting the Defi's this week. I'm still to fit the sensors, but the gauges themselves are in lol. I tapped into the IGN power, ground and illumination from the cigarette lighter and then the constant power leading to the head unit for the control unit, thinking I will velcro it into the glove box but currently it is sitting in the passenger footwell lol. I love how easy it is to pull shit apart in R34's lol. Someone asked earlier to post pics on how I mounted these, so here it is, I siliconed them! Haha, looks a bit sketchy but I didn't want them falling back and silicon is easy enough to get off so I figured more was best lol. Fitted up. Not 100% perfect alignment but you can't really tell. With headlights on. RiseofBrutality
They look great dude. I prefer them sitting behind the housing then being wedged in and sticking out, looks a lot cleaner. No boost gauge? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/421419-timmys-r34-gtt/page/8/#findComment-7226028 Share on other sites
timmy_89
No boost gauge? Nar, I have the e-boost to check if I need to (currently sitting in the glove box). If I get another gauge I'll probably pillar mount it and whatever the other one is (only other one I can think I'd get would be AFR but that won't be until I do a bit more engine work). I've still got a water temp gauge I want to hook up and have looked at AFR as well but as much as I want them in the car I dont want to go through the hassle of pillar mounting them only to get defected Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/421419-timmys-r34-gtt/page/8/#findComment-7227023 Share on other sites
34GeeTeeTee
Get a decent ECU and tuner and you will never need to look at the AFRs lol And no need for a boost gauge either! Don't you have an AFR? :3 I don't see it as a necessity just a precautionary thing. It is simply there for troubleshooting if anything goes wrong.... The Haltech protects the engine so no need to watch what its doing!
