I just made mine, my little plasma cutter wouldn't work on such thick material so I just drilled lots of holes, punched the centre out and filed it. 10mm would be a lot easier than 20mm though. :P

Disco, make sure you delete your BOV and install a nice intake pipe with a pod filter.

I want to hear it go ssuuuuuu tuuutuutu hahaha.. (as if you would do it)

On the other hand, can't wait till you do it. Will be following this thread

Can anyone using GCGs split GT30 IW Skyline dump tell me if they work properly or not . If it's a lemon I'll get one made but if its alright I'll get one to speed up the fitting process . So close I can smell that 76 52T and I want to see it working .

Mick O your front dump used a divorced WG pipe , was the gate side of the dump flange matched to the turbine housing port or just hole sawed like GCGs ?

Thanks all cheers Adrian .

PS Ch cha cha cha - nah . Hopefully won't do that so much through the std airbox . Actuator is 1 bar big can if it makes any difference .

Im reasonably sure I have one. (bought second hand) no worries with it. I know the concern of sticking flap etc with splitdumps on stock housings, but its not a prob with the gt30 housing.

Pretty sure mine matched disco but not 100% sure either to be honest.. All I know is it did work as I made great power and never had any boost control issues at all :)

Yes the plate could be ground but the reason it was done with a hole saw is to weld a round tube to it rather than form it to suit the profile of the housing . In my mind IWGs need to have everything going for them to work properly though in this case no ones said they don't work .

ATP in the past made a dump for something similar so I'll see if I can find pics of it .

A .

I don't think it was done with a hole saw. The whole thing is a laser or plasma cut flange, there's no way they made the round hole with a hole saw.

So to clarify, mine has a round hole for the wastegate.

There is an old thread here called "Boost Creep Gt3076" and I tried linking with no success .

The second page second post shows a pic of Mr Mafias Front/dump from the turbo end and you can clearly see the round hole for the gates separate pipe .

The GCG one looks very similar to this , quite frankly it doesn't matter if the round gates outlet hole was created by a hole saw or cutter because it's the size and shape of this "orifice" that may not be ideal .

Checkbuzz makes interesting comments about replacing his GTRS with a 0.82 IW 3076R 52T , as in similar response but more of everything everywhere . Have mentioned this at times and most people find it very hard to believe . I'm sceptical but aim to find out myself . I sort of hope I'll get what Mr Mafia got with a larger 0.82 hot side and smaller 52 vs 56T GT37 compressor . Common factor is the GT30 turbine and the realist in me says nah got to be significantly heavier than a GT28 turbine and inertia is inertia .

Does anyone have pics of a bell mouth dump on their std manifold mounted GT30 IW turbo ?

Want this happening next time I get a string of week days off , cheers A .

I'm not going with the GCG dump , I went to Best Mufflers at Carlton this afternoon and they sold me the best GT30IW dump flange I've seen to date . It's designed for an open collector and the feller reckons forming a stainless 3 1/2" bend to it should work .

I was going to stay with a 3" front pipe just to keep it reasonably compact , in stainless so it can be wrapped to keep the heat out of the bay and the interior .

A .

They do but I'm not going that way . The front is a pipe kit Scotty here made to mate the 4 inch inlet to the std/Z32 AFM and the other two pipes .

I found this pic on Google images CO SAu yesterday . I'd like to see the other side of the front flange but it doesn't look too involved .

Still amazed no one makes these for such a common conversion , anyway off to see someone tomorrow who can fit and make a similar kind of thing .

Unfortunately the Fords turbo is on the drivers side of the engine so the rectangular gate outlet section points downwards towards the inside radius of the dumps first bend . An RB with a std manifold on the other side mounts the turbo with the rectangular section pointing up so the tube has to be formed with the matching section for the gates outlet on the outer radius side of the first bend .

An open (bell type) flange for these housings is quite large and that's why I think so many Ford ones are made of 4" tube , so it doesn't "underlap" the perimeter of the shaped hole through the plate .

4" is pretty big for a 2.5L engine so it probably needs to neck down somehow to maybe 3- 3 1/4" back to the cat . Stainless so it can be heat wrapped .

Going to see someone about it this morning so more later .

The mob I wanted to do the conversion doesn't want to do the dump but they put me on to Peter at Kirrawee Mufflers and he has a few ideas . He showed me a sawn off XR6T first dump section in 4" stainless and his tig welds look pretty good to me .

Another suggestion he has is to use a 3 1/2" stainless bend which is about right for the main outlet and make a curved channel to house the gates outlet section , with a matching section cut out of the main tube .

I'm curious to hear about dump pipe tube diameter as it seems anything from 3-4" could be used though 3 1/2 or less is probably easier to package underneath to the cat .

I'm expecting the exhaust note/volume to change going from the GT28 to the GT30 hot side and dump section .

A .

It will be louder...

I would go 3.5 inch on the dump, and taper it back to 3 inch at the cat usually for that sized turbo. (unless you want to run 3.5 the whole way.)

3.5" the whole way :D

DO IT..

I'm going to do that when I decide to plumb my external back.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
