When i first purchased my r33 in November of 2010 it was in a somewhat sad state of affairs, faded (and in parts peeling) gunmetal paint covered the majority of its vulnerable body.

The car itself was a 93 E-Ecr33 (that's right folks she's a type S :P) and like all type S cars was powered by the non turbo variant of the rb25 and backed by the odd 5 speed auto jatco box. So in short it wasn't exactly a speed demon.

It looked something like this when i picked it up (don't let the polish fool you the paint was bad): ITF6lf7.jpg

It wasn't long before i got sick of looking at the horrible flaking off paint and tool the car down to Steve at wrapture stylings and got him to wrap the top half of the car in black (god those rims are bad)

After getting sick of being teased left right and centre by practically everyone for the dinner plate chromies (18x7 +43 :/ ) I sourced a set of rims off boost cruising and a week later they were on the car (they look like Veilside Andrews, but are probley fake, I have no idea). Somewhere along the line I picked up a series 2 boot as well.

A few months past and after over 220k and multiple trips past that 7k mark on the tacho the poor little rb screamed no more and decided to spin one of the big end bearings, the car remained stationary for over six months while trying to source an engine and after eventually finding one was transplanted into the car over a couple weekends (with more beer consumed then I'd like to think health and safety would approve of). *note nismo sticker for more killerwasps

Using the forces of sheer luck the motor started and ran like a dream, this was followed shortly after with another trip down to Wrapture for a full body wrap in chilli red vinyl:

Which brings us to September 2012, when after a trip home from power cruise resulted in a very blown up auto and me stuck in 3rd gear limping home, by this stage you can imagine my frustration with this car. But, this broken gearbox became the catalyst that would eventually result in "The Abomination" (as dubbed by SAU Qld) being built.

Within weeks I had decided I was through breaking Nissan products and thought I'd start trying to break a few bits of GM gear instead. So it was off to eBay where I sourced a vz ls1 (which proved more costly then first imagined) and a 4l60e auto gearbox to be transplanted into my unsuspecting r33:

Obviously step one was getting all the old Nissan stuff out and test fit up what the GM motor looked like in the nissan bay which ended up with the car looking something likeeeee this:

From there engine mounts were fabbed up and the trans tunnel lightly massaged to accommodate the 4Ls larger bell housing:

Not long after the radiator was fitted and the gearbox crossmember fabricated under the car, at this stage a 3inch single piece tail shaft was ordered and turned up within a few weeks:

Aparently I have no photos of the tail shaft but it looks like a tail shaft lol.

We ran into issues with the fly by wire throttle body and eventually decided to convert it back to a cable throttle from a vt which intern ment a swap over to a vt ecu, we had this sent off to vengeance performance for what is basically a bandaid mail order tune until enough cash is there for a head and cam swap (and a decent tune) but for what it is it goes well ;)

A few weeks later the extractors were fabbed up as well as the rest of the system which consists of the headers into a y merge and then into a mandrel 3" system with a single four inch resonator and a 3" in twin 2 1/2 inch out rear muffler.

As the gear box has been manualised a B&M pro ratchet shifter was purchased and installed into the existing r33 centre console, again more "massaging" of the factory stuff and it fitted up without two many complaints ;)

I know I've kinda crammed this all into a pretty short process but the general idea is there, the wiring was done by home grown kustoms in Toowoomba and as the car sits now is all mod plated up and ready to attack the mean streets of Toowoomba (as soon as I'm off these damn p plates)

Future plans:

*built 4l60e/th400

*Porter heads

*Largish cam (something in the 23X range) + required accessories

*obviously a retune

*3200 stall

*racepak dash

*New coil overs as the current ones are stuffed

... The list is really endless, ill keep this thread up to date with how the car progresses :)

It's kinda hard to get a video as I can't "legally" drive it, I'll try and get some up soon.

But it definitely does go :)

Find a private road/property like i always do :)

They were hecticly bad, literally got laughed at by SAU people lol

And this is something new? :P

There is but only one criticism I have of your setup, and no, it's not the fact it's auto...

The radiator support, if your gearbox and motor setup was anything like mine, it means you're going to have to do the old split the gearbox and motor apart while in the car if you need to pull the motor out again... It's my only issue, I personally would have made that rail a bolt in piece...

And in saying that, it makes me want to finish mine off really badly :(

i can see why! can i take it for a spin next month when im up? :P

dont like the wing much either but thats my opinion! overall tho nicky boy coming along nicely :)

Yer I get a lot of hate on for the series 2 wing? No idea why, I still have to series one wing sitting around in the shed lol

    • I can ship Nismo floor mats to you: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/nismo-floor-mats-for-skyline-r33-bcnr33-stagea-wgnc34?_pos=1&_sid=9278c1467&_ss=r
    • Here's the link: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6642/misc/G49?frame_no=WGNC34-137122 What you think about it? The same product i found on nengun: https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/40567/MiPwn5qAMfCfmpxHNDnwn5q9MDAx8J-QiW9sZC1qcC0xMTAtRzQ5LS0wMDE/Floor+Carpet+%2F+Mat+2/0688339eba149c19 Bot i have spoken to 😅 ensured me, that mats are 100% original, oem product. I have my doubts. I also heard what you mentioned, that nengun often offers items that are actual not available... On the other hand mats i found on japanese yahoo or ebay are in poor condition and still quite expensive so i'd rather wait for some better offers. My location - Poland. We literaly don't have ANY market for used Stagea parts so need to search outside Europe.
    • You can’t see much on the other side as the lcd is there I don’t think it’s the same as the m33 beside it as the markings on top is not the same was hoping someone had a good quality photo or if they just happened to have the unit in hand, quickly take the cover off and take a photo to clearly show the marking on top to identify the diode   the unit is currently with an electronics repair shop so I can’t take another photo at the moment hopefully they are smart enough to know if it’s a zener diode or not
    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
