Can we cut out the useless Asian jokes? There were some valid commentary and extremely good points raised. Funny posts regarding EPA carpark dobbing which I'm all for to give those in the system a taste of their own.

But if you insist on the race jokes why don't we just move on and make some comments about Africans. Greek? No Italian. I'm not sure it's hard to make up my mind since there's Afghans, Jews, and half-casts in between. I'm a bit spoilt for choice but I guess that's one of the privileges I have living in a multi-cultural society.

Don't forget ur mum either....

lol what are you on about...everyone's race cops a beating here. It's the reason we all get along so well. You can bag mine if you can work out where the f**k I come from!

Equestria. Why the long face?

Lmao. Nice one Basti, tactfully done. Apologies if i'm quick with the trigger. Last fortnight I did humanity an injustice because I kept silent so as to be 'agreeable' to a group of people i just met. But that's my problem. Cheers.

Bit of an update:

Got home and was greeted with a letter from EPA and thought "Cool, maybe they've grown some logic and are withdrawing the original test notice".

Low and behold, what I read disgustted me. Basically, the letter read "The time of 2:22pm should read 4:20pm".

Now, this is the part that annoys me because in my email, I outlined to them my exact movements and what time. They basically taken note of what I wrote to them and then changed the time of apparent infringement to suit them!!

Obviously I was in the area at the time of 4:45pm (DUH! I wrote to you in the email saying I was there!) BUT not even close to the road/time I was apparently spotted on!

My faith in EPA has well and truly been lost. "Disgraceful" is the only word I can think, knowing they are more than willing to pull off a stunt like changing times around AFTER I emailed them with my location/wehereabouts.

even more reason to fight it mate.

time to get the press involved.

Does the report say the name of the officer who reported you?

If so, go to the station and ask if you can talk to them, or organise a time to speak to them....

Then say "This report says that I was here at 2:22pm, is it possible that you've gotten the time wrong, because I wasn't even in this part of melbourne at the time."

He'll of course say "No, that is correct, I spotted you at 2:22pm at xxxxxxx", reading back the details of the first report.

Boom, conflicting information, and a bullshit "amendment" from EPA...

Will be enough to get it cancelled.

You really love getting the press involved huh? LOL

Nope, no name. I've tried since day one to get the name of reporting officer so I could have a chat to him and see where the error has occured. Unfortunatly, EPA continue to withhold the name of the officer for some reason or another.

If I was able to get the officer's name, I would no doubt follow the path you mentioned as the two conflicting stories will raise alarm bells. Hopefully the officer isn't in on it also. EPA = Untrustworthy!

    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
    • Another vote for installing them and see how you go.  I mean, you already own them, why would you not fit them?
    • I have had too many of those over the years, my cars have a toolkit or at minimum a cheapy multi tool thing because its too easy to be snookered by some stupid plastic clip that stops you checking the battery terminal isn't loose.
    • Basically, if there is a part# on the nissan catalogue, it is a genuine part. There is a thing called "new old stock" which is stuff made years ago but never sold (or landfilled), but it is super hit and miss what you can buy. Other than some expensive Nismo stuff there is nothing new being made that suits these cars. The only time to be a little careful is (mostly in the US I think, but maybe Japan too), Nissan started rebranding some cheap crap maintenance parts like oil filters as "Pitworks"; stay away from them, if you are buying cheap just buy whatever the local car parts shop carries The three part numbers have an explanation on Amayama: 0V005 is auto, base style 0V015 is manual 0V505 is auto, hectic momo branded ones, maximum F&F points there!
