And Hong Kong after they pay their 45% first rego tax on new ones..

There a lot of other countries in the rest of the world that's got the GTR priced higher than AUS (e.g. Singapore, I believe around 250k SGD brand new 1AUD = approx. 1.19SGD). Quit whinging and maybe some day you will get one.

quit winging? LOL bro you don't even have a r35 GTR SO HOW CAN U SAY

quit winging? LOL bro you don't even have a r35 GTR, so how can u say that? U can't, the amount of money u paid for your boat r33 GTR and spent on it, u could of easily owned a R35 GTR over in the US, so how does that feel Brenda? I'd be mad to

Anyone who payed twice as much for something and then found out the same thing is half the price elsewhere would be either kidding themselves or a complete and utter moron if the said they weren't pissed off, no two ways about it. Even the guys on other thread were venting there frustration at the same thing

Didn't even go to school did you mate?

You're an angry human aren't you?

Practice what ya preach, u started on me 1st so don't complain when u get raped as a consequence Leave me alone and i'll do likewise, i'm open to criticism but do it in the right manner. So far the thread has received rave reviews, don't like it then rack off if you don't contribute any opinion or fact to the discussion, simple. We need more people like me around here to say it how it is rather then coward in the background.

Move to America then

And bug them over on their forum

It's funny u say that coz i was actually thinking the same thing, if i went and lived over there for 3 or 4 years i could own a r35 GTR and pay for my holiday and still have change left over

So Levin boy did u wana come with me? given how much money you've wasted on your boat r33 gtr already

Edited by discoPumpkin

all this coming from the guy with no 35gtr and toy story as his dp.

you want people to stop baiting you?

ignore them.

im sure you will retaliate to this post too.

answers have been given, nothing else is needed.

I promise I won't start any ill conceived, poorly thought out redundant threads; but now you have to follow suit.

I'll be sure to give you a sweet little cuddle before I make any comments in future and treat you like the spoilt little child you clearly are.

If you can make it through one night without making a personal attack on another member I'll make a formal apology to you ; but I'm willing to be that you will have attacked someone before I've even finished this post.

Grow up.

Erm. Does it matter if we (the ones that replied to the post doesnt own a R35 GTR? Dont think so.

TBH, I dont feel anything because someone else in another country is paying 1/2 the price of what I'm paying for my car because its a different country? You can never get the best of everything. As suggested, if you really want to make yourself feel better because you can afford a cheap GTR, move to the States. Lower pay, higher rate of unemployment, higher risk of getting shot and all the crap that goes along with it.

I do not disagree with your comment about getting pissed because I paid more for something BUT only if I can get it into the country. A good example is tyres from Tirerack ;) . Theres no point getting pissed over something which you cannot change (and for this case getting a cheap R35 GTR in Australia)

Not sure but I'm guessing its relative to the labour rates and tax? We're paying extra for luxury car tax here for cars and the GST is calculated with everything included. And the dealer's profit (this is again kinda related to labour rate)?

It's a reasonable statement though, there is actually no legitimate explanation for such a significant price differential, outside of profiteering of course.

Anyway keep feeding the troll and maybe this thread will keep me entertained the rest of the week. :woot:

    • Have a look at that (shitty) pic I posted. You can see AN -4 braided line coming to a -4 to 1/8 BSPT adapter, into a 1/8 BSPT T piece. The Haltech pressure sender is screwed into the long arm of the sender and factory sender (pre your pic) into the T side. You can also see the cable tie holding the whole contraption in place. Is it better than mounting the sender direct to your engine fitting......yes because it removes that vibration as the engine revs out 50 times every lap and that factory sender is pretty big. Is it necessary for you......well I've got no idea, I just don't like something important failing twice so over-engineer it to the moon!
    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
