O2 sensor

After reading this forum and being new to a owning a skyline...... I have tracked down a direct replacement for an RB25DET motor from repco and is only costing me $90. Part is:

OZA395-E2 made by NTK (not NGK) - Part fits N14 Pulsar's etc...but apparently will do the same job for the RB25DET, more reliable than a cheap $60 Ford EL sensor where you neet to cut wires etc.

Can someone back up my story? Looking for others who have heard the same thing.

NGK's OZA395-E2 is a direct fit for rb25det

NGK's OTD2F-P1P is a direct fit for R32 rb26det rear sensor, and will work for front sensor if you attach the original plug.

both are nice and cheap and easily available

The OZA395-E2 is NOT a direct replacement, the connection does not match, at least for the R34 GTT, not sure about 33's.

If anyone has a direct fit that i dont have to buy from nissan for a billion dollars, please post it.

Ok, after some deliberation I had come to the question:

What the hell is the difference between the O2 sensors???? Is it just the wiring and plug shapes?

This is a list of the parts I've found so far - havn't decided what to get yet tho.

Replacements for RB25 (mainly using the fact that EL parts are used)

From Repco:

NTK OZA395-E2 - which is now relisted as BOSCH 2269013007 (this part quoted $129)

ACA ROX-207

SUPER CHEAP:

OX1016 (not sure of brand - is the equivalent EL part)

For RB20

NISSAN:

22690-73L11 (quoted approx $200)

Someone previously said that the RB25 parts are usable on RB20 - which is what I'm looking for - is this correct????

I'm thinking of going to Repco this arvo and trying the BOSCH part. Still - was actually hoping for a part <$100

Well....

There are only 2 types of 02 sensors - Titania and Zirconia. The Zirconia ones come in 2 thread sizes.

From there....the only difference is the plug. So there are 3 generic ones without plugs to chose from, or direct fit with a plug on the end there are hundreds to choose from.

To work out which generic ones we need to know thread size and titania or zirconia for each of the motors, then work out 02 snesors from who are which. But for that we need someone on the inside who knows what the part numbers mean.

Summery....................

These are my findings so far,

NGK OZA395-E2 (This comes as BOSH now part number 2269013007) $129 from REPCO

ACA ROX207 (Direct fitment for Ford EL)

ACA ROX203 (Universal fittment)

NIssan Orginal Part Numbers for R33 RB25DE NON TURBO models-

Buid Date ( 93/08 - 95/01) Part Number - 22690 - 73L11

( 95/01 - 96/01) Part Number - 22690 - 85T00

( 96/01 - ) Same as above

By the way gary "Sydneykid" advised me to use ACA ROX203 for my car......think I should give it a go and see, If the original Nissan one is not that expensive ill go for it.

There is no reason at all to cut the wires. Disassemble the plug, pull the wires out (noting the config, take a pic) & re-assemble

Simple

BTW I sell all NGK/NTK products, PM for price etc

it will occasionally, eg when coasting in gear with no throttle (depending on car/ecu it will cut injectors - ie max lean)

even just normal lean deceleration may be enough to get it that low (ie even without cutting injectors)

only be concerned if its always 0.0...if it moves around, no problems

From what I gather, the RB25DET Neo engines use the NGK/NTK Part#OZA395-E2 oxy sensor (approx $78+gst). Don't even have to replace plugs, this babies come ready to plug and play. I'm trying to source an oxy socket (with difficulty) to replace my S2 Stagea O2 sensor this weekend. If I can't find a socket I'll have to try a wrench/spanner/teeth to get the old one out.

EDIT: Unfortunately I told a lie, tried it myself and the plug definitely does not fit the RB25DET Neo, sorry. Might have to cut and crimp wires.

Bloody Hell. This is page 28 of this thread. Taken me hours to read.

After page 2, I felt I knew what to get in the way of an aftermarket Oxygen Sensor.

Now, at page 28, I HAVE NO IDEA WHATEVER.

Can ANYONE, who has actually done it, on a 1992 R32 GTSt , RB20DET Engine (and Nothing Else ), tell me what they used, and which had the right thread and three wires, 2 of one colour, and 1 of another. AND IT WORKED. PLEASE??.. Just that answer. I don't care what else it fits, or what size spanner to use. PLEASE??

Am I right to say that RB26DETT uses Titania O2 sensors and RB25DET use Zirconia? The Ford EL O2 sensor that seems to fit with some wire crimping is a Zirconia type. ACA ROX207 which is similar with NTK OZA395-E2 but without the plug. Or have I gone completely nuts?

Well BOLLOCKS.

Went out and got the NGK/NTK OZA395-E2 part and i can 100% say the plugs DO NOT FIT. Now I have to go return it and I'm back to square one re: the right sensor for the S2 Stagea. :P
