So im looking at purchasing a set of cams and iv come across these camtech cams. Has anybody heard of them? Anybody Using them? opinions will be much appreciated. Also what cams does everybody recommend using in a stock bottom end RB25 with a GT3076 .82. Making 300kw now on 16/17psi will be upping the boost to 20+psi when i decide on cams and wont be using the VCT.

Cheers, Phill.

How would 268 go on a 3076? im looking at the 264 in/ex 9mm lift.

Any advantage of leaving the VCT? wouldnt the vernier cam gear (when adjusted) be better?

Im no expert, so take it with a grain of salt, but i think they are to big and suited for 60+- to 67mm turbos

i'd use something in the 250's for a 3076 to fill up the powerband

cams need to be be matched to turbine/exhaust flow, as thats always your bottleneck....backpressure

sure you can shift your powerband to the right, but backpressure will be the one to have the final say in the matter

and nose the curve over generally, no matter how big the camshaft fitted

cheers

darren

Looks like ill be keeping vct and going hks 256 in 264 ex with an exhaust cam gear. They look like a popular/good choice. Im after a fatter mid range and try to have a more aggressive overall power ban.

I know it does the exact same thing. But does it give as much of an improvement as lets say a vcam on a 26?

Hard to know the answer to that. Who would do a back to back with the OEM unit then a Vcam. Either would have much more twist down low than a static cam arrangement.
