Your original post said resonator?

So take it back to the shop and ask them to make it quieter. if you haven't scratched it up they may take it back and do a deal with a different setup.

My setup is 3" bell mouth dump to a catco ceramic, then to a large straight through oval, then it steps up the 31/2" to the cannon. tested at 88db.

nah sorry i have a small muffler thats it.

how would they make it quieter though? i have been told many times the japanese mufflers are way quieter than the rest. I put a hurricane muffler on my car before and it was barely quieter than my current cannon.

They're the experts, they should be able to give you a couple of options. My cannon and oval are SS jasma, not sure on brand as they were second hand, but they seem like they are well made, with nil restriction or step-downs.

maybe they can put on a resonator/hot dog? so ill be running cat, resonator, muffler and cannon...i only got a cat back system...will adding a resonator restrict any power? btw its N/A

otherwise im just gonna get a silencer

Resonators and hotdogs are just pipes with bulges in them, and really only effect the tone of the sound.

Just take it back and ask them what can be done.

Turbo it. That will make it quieter.

i am at the end of the year. In less than a month i got checked twice to see if my car was turbo by the cops..and if it was then that was $2000 out of pocket and loss of license for 6 months

i will tomorrow and let u know how it goes. To be honest, i dont like the way cannons look on skylines...i want my old muffler back but he threw it in the bin LOL im gonna have to ask him to get it back for me because i had a oval tip on that lolololool

You need a two and a half inch exhaust from front pipe back a muffler after the cat and a resonater at the rear before the tip. Its simple as .Don't go any bigger or you will lose power with an na. :-)

That depends a bit on the type of resonator. Some just have a pipe with holes in it (like a normal muffler), but a decent one will have the holes that are pulled down into the pipe to direct the sound up into the muffler packing more. They make a noticeable difference to volume. The missus sss pulsar just has 1 of those (about 18" long) and a straight through 2" oval muffler and it isn't that loud at all. When I first installed the system I just tried it with the rear muffler only and it was LOUD.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
