An interesting comparison of the newest Hypercars being offered by Ferrari with its LaFerrari, Mclaren its P1 and the Porsche 918 Sypder.

(Apologies for the multiple posts, it won't allow me to embed more than two video's in one post?)

The LaFerrari sounds incredible.

Chris Harris is the only person worth watching, however. How those other f**king boring numpties got that gig is beyond me. What a pack of staid, boring dream boats.

I have always had the impression that Steve Sutcliffe gets paid to say certain things otherwise he doesn't get to drive super expensive cars. The way he constantly gushes on about cars he is reviewing seems fake to me.

Talk shit about the car you're reviewing and get the banstick from the manufacturer...simple.

Politics as much as $$$ have got plenty to do with the comments in the reviews I reckon.

IIRC, didn't Chris Harris get the banstick from Ferrari?

He shit canned them for their pre-test development and sending ring in's to a group test. Apparently they always send two cars to a group test, with explicit instructions to use one for straight line and one for track testing. And they send a teat of engineers along too. The other companies just hand over a car and politely ask for it not to be crashed. Good on him for calling their bullshit and well done Ferrari for screwing your actual customers (who don't get the cars the tests lead them to believe they are purchasing) and doing what you can to damage your brand.

This is the article where he roasts Ferrari ; http://jalopnik.com/5760248/how-ferrari-spins

Truth be told most big manufacturers must spend some time making sure the car is sorted before giving them out to journo's. New pads/rotors, clutch, fluids and fresh tyres etc I have seen both video's and articles where the car used for the road test and track test are changed. Maybe not to the same degree Ferrari have employed in that example. You can't really blame Ferrari for wanting there car to look good, but I do agree lying about real world performance is wrong and misleading.

For all his anger at Ferrari for that behaviour it doesn't make him not want to own one! ...http://jalopnik.com/5937349/why-did-chris-harris-buy-a-ferrari-599

All I really care about is that he gives the best reviews and insights into cars I’ll prob never drive! Watch him drifting a F12 Berlinetta with Ferrari's blessing I might add?? Figure that one out?

Lot's of options at this end of the ultra rich market, I started with the big three for obvious reasons. But there are definitely some pretty crazy cars available if money is no object...

It was a good read. An eye opener into how far Ferrari will go to win some numbers games.

I know a lot of the top manufacturers have a strong grasp on the media and how their company is displayed, after all why wouldn't you? They hold the power to which media outlet is to host their next 'big thing' and being of such prestige and class they have a firm grasp for years to come, it doesn't matter what some media outlets say.

Reminds me of some of the traders on this website, they have immunity from dodgy products because they give to the forum, the same as Ferrari give media outlets money in the form of listeners readers and viewers.

ferrari's time of 2 seconds faster 0-100mph vs the typical owner of the same car is not so shocking to me. Again who is going to be the whistle blower. Understand that all sports cars are different, even if they are the same make and model, and none will be bang dead on with one another.

I have to say 2 seconds is a lot of lost time and Ferrari can't cover that up.

Don't bother with the 'tyres' debate. We all know manufacturers and dealerships have different options when it comes to what grade tyre you would like.

Ferrari seem like the typical over achiever in the automotive world. You know, the one who breaks all the rules to get ahead, but cry like a 2 year old child when things don't go their way.

Nothing new with car companies being generous with performance times. There's certainly question over the r35 gtr lap time around the ring after porsche went and bought one from a dealer, took it to the track and their driver couldn't get within 25 seconds of Nissan's claimed time.

That proves it! A "claimed time" means an extra sale - even from Porsche!!! :P

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
