hairdryer33
Gday all im after anyone who has used a gt3037/gt35 ebay spec turbo on a rb25. I know I know everyone is quick to dump crap on them, how ever I built a gas turbine engine from a t70 and ran 25psi no worries at all, so for the short term (which is all im after) there is potential. scotty nm35
There is the potential it will destroy your engine too. Why not just buy a Hypergear? Cheap, high quality thrust/bearings, properly balanced, with local warranty. I try and back the Aussie made products if I can... No way I would want to push an Egay gt35 to 150,000 revs. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449314-attn-ebay-gt3037-users/#findComment-7400988 Share on other sites
Ben C34
They work for some. Think about what you are really risking, time and money, poor perfornance etc Not worth the risk as Scott mentioned considering the other options. GTSBoy
Yeah, let's be realistic. There's no such thing as an eBay GT3037. All there really is are crap turbos with the description GT3037. Ben C34
Some things you can maybe cheap out on. The turbo is not one of them. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449314-attn-ebay-gt3037-users/#findComment-7401015 Share on other sites
Ben C34
Actually do a full knockoff build, fake z32 afm , turbo , gate, manifold, might as well buy a fake fuel pump and reg and add a bee r for flames. Dose Pipe Sutututu
might add a few vents to the block after all that elite gear ^ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449314-attn-ebay-gt3037-users/#findComment-7401026 Share on other sites
hairdryer33
Ive seen the vid of a t70 the compressor wheel was no bigger than a t04 just with a big ass housing on it. Its what its labled as anyway so no doubt its a mix match or smaller than a genuine garrett. Getting it balanced and good seals put in if it blows it blows Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449314-attn-ebay-gt3037-users/#findComment-7401042 Share on other sites

Dose Pipe Sutututu
why would you buy a dim sim special turbo, re balance it and re seal it, etc.. it will end up costing as much as a proper turbo to begin with.. if you're really keen on ling long special turbos at least go with a Kando peking duck special. Ben C34
And will do ben lol I had no issues with the ebay 38mm gate I used on my v8 A wastegate is something i consider you might get away with, as per your experience. Not worth the risk in my opinion if it sticks shut. Also, it doesn't spin at 100,000 rpm. Ben C34
Op, aren't you running a stock turbo? Just boost that till it pops to get an idea how fun it is changing a busted turbo before you experience it with an eBay turbo.
