Hi guys,

I'm hoping this is a nice easy topic! Just planning and getting ready to do the a few upgrades on my R34 like a hypergear high flow, nistune, poncams and tomei exhaust cam gear, injectors, fpr, fuel pump etc to go with my arc inter cooler and full 3 inch from dump back. Hoping for 270 or there abouts running about 1 bar! Could I run more?

I'm chasing up a part no for the Bosch ID 1000 injectors for an almost straight drop into my factory fuel rail and intake manifold etc. From the research I have done I think I only need to rewire the Bosch plugs in as they are square and the factory plugs are oval!

If anybody has the part no it would make my life nice and easy. Any feedback would be appreciated aswell! Like whether they are the go or to try something else?

Before anybody flames me I have done a search but came up empty handed hence why I'm asking!

Regards, Pete..

Bosche EV14 injectors are the 1000's you can also now get plugs/adapters that convert it to the standard injector loom plug so it becomes plug and play.

Id find a link but im on the phone and CBF

Personally I would be fitting these injectors;

http://www.nzefi.com/product/nissan-r34-rb-550ccmin-top-feed-direct-fit-fuel-injector-kit/

They are factory 560cc R35 GT-R injectors, and are a direct fit for R34 GTT's and Z33's and are good for 500hp......and as an added bonus they will have a better spray pattern than the ID1000's as they are just de-capped/high flowed Bosch 550cc's.

The ID1000's will require a bit of modification as the sizing is different, and the plug to be changed as the factory Nissan plug is a Denso and the ID's are a U.S. Car plug.

Thankyou for the replies guys!

Subboy I have never heard of those! They seem really good! I am going to do a bit more research into them!

I must of been thinking of the ev's and not the id's. What do you guys think of these? Is 800cc going to be large enough? For the price they seem really good!

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/121528361378?nav=SEARCH

Those injectors look like full lengths

Id go these ones ( I think Sub Boy bought them to my attention not long ago)

http://www.nzefi.com/product/nissan-rb-1000ccmin-top-feed-direct-fit-fuel-injector-kit/

If you are dead set on 1000cc these would be the ones to get

Personally I dont trust ebay when quite a few trusted companies are selling ID's/Bosch injectors at a decent price

What about these? How would these go?

http://www.japaneseimportspares.com.au/itemdetails/39382

A tad more then I'm hoping to spend! Just like the nzefi ones to be honest.. I want to find something that is a straight drop in or close enough for the best bang for buck really!

Those ones won't fit.

The R34 GTT runs a completely different size/shape injector to any of the other Skylines, so without changing the fuel rail setup and plugs you won't get the Nismos to fit.

The ID1000's and the new Bosch 1000's won't fit either without some modifications, the R34 injector is a 3/4 size.....you can use the ID's and the Bosch 1000's without a top cap to give you close to the right size, but you won't have a fuel basket/filter as they mount into the top cap adaptors.....and even then I think the plug will foul on the fuel rail.

The R35 GT-R injectors that I listed will be perfect for the job, yes they are a little pricey, but you can be garanteed they will slot in perfectly and have enough for future upgrades to 500hp.

sigh,

you can put the filter baskets in the bosch EV14 ones without the cap that makes them full length. they dont foul on the rail either. ID's are the same deal

its on my current car right now and I installed it years ago before the plug adapters came out. Have seen it done on countless other R34's as its the standard at Unigroup: 1000's, filter baskets with caps and adapters for $750

R35 injectors will work but this good for 500hp shit is nonsense, depends on fuel and how your tuner tunes the car.

GTR injectors are 11mm tops and require a different rail and are a low impedence injector requiring a impedence pack to make them high imp IIRC but thats neither here nor there.

I stand corrected on the filter baskets, I've never seen one that fits the wide mouth of the EV14's /Bosch 550's, I wasn't sure if they would foul the rail as I've never tried fitting them as we haven't seen any filter baskets to suit.

As for a 550cc not being able to make 500hp.....I've done it plenty of times.

By "GTR injectors" you are meaning R32/33/34 GTR, they are actually 10.5mm tops into the factory rail, aftermarket rails are 11mm, yes you would need to use resistors, as for the R35's they are direct fit.

560cc R35 injectors are so small, if you're going to that effort might as well give yourself headroom.

I'm running 875cc at stock base pressure and hitting 87% duty cycle already and making only 315kW on a modest dyno

89cal the link you posted up from nzefi is for the RB26 GTR's. 10.5 mm tops etc.. But looking through that item they do offer direct kits for the 34 Rb25 Neos!

I rang a few injector suppliers like afi and a few local auto shops today for some advice and racked their brains and I managed to get a part no for the ID 1000's incase anybody wanted it.. It was FIV9617. They should be top feed, 3/4 length etc.. But still ask the questions!!

Thanks for all the tips and advice guys! I'm sure anybody researching this down the track will find this most helpful!

I think the $1100 550cc denso nzefi injectors could be the way to go!

But I did also find these 700cc Bosch EV 14s on ebay. Top feed, 3/4 length, high impedance, denso plugs same as factory making them a direct fit without the need to rewire new plug adaptors making these also a direct fit.. At $540 shipped I think these are a near winner!

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/121513135104?nav=SEARCH

Those are not native 700cc injectors. They are modified. We are injector snobs around here now and prefer to buy the genuine, unmodified, 1000cc injectors. And given the pricing you can get from local vendors is not a lot more than that eBay set.....why not be a snob?

Sigh

Why the wouldn't you just get the id 1000s when they are nearly twice the size of those ones (room for power in the future) AND I know for a fact that a company like UNIGROUP will source and fit GENUINE ones for $1100 if your incapable of doing it yourself

Sigh

What's with all the sighs.....sounds lame

Why wouldn't you get ID1000's over the Denso 560's? ...... Because the ID1000's are just a high flowed/decapped Bosch 550cc injector, so the spray pattern isn't anywhere as good, and also the plugs will need changing, the OP is only looking for 270 so although you could use 1000cc injectors, it is a little overkill.

..... sigh

270kw now....sigh, gets bored.. 350kw next year... oh wait I need new injectors again.. sigh

I have 2000s (actually 2200) that idle fine on a cold engine up on E85... spray pattern must not be too bad

.... sigh

Do it once, do it right. I really don't know how many times it needs to be said when it comes to modifying these things

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
