i remember their shoes being semi-popular once upon a time, but didnt think theyd be as everywhere as they are now (in advertising).

they probably have a film crew and gear and it funds itself through advertising/youtube/social media/promoting tourism etc.

And what if you replace the hardware of your computer? What do you do then?

not sure, I'm assuming you'll either need to install 8.1 with the key you have first and go through it all again if it still works or call them and tell them you changed hardware

nah it's more like windows 7 than 8 IMO, enterprise editions can't upgrade either - you can download the upgrade from Microsoft website if you don't have the notification, that's what I did.

Looks more like older windows to me, keeping some 8 elements

Also hate 8

Make a desktop look like a tablet screen; a device that compromises view because of the lack of a mouse - real clever

Honestly windows peaked at 95

XP was a slight improvement

Everything after was an exercise in demonstrating their ability to suck cock and produce a shitty operating system

Will I be able to upgrade from the windows 8 you legally installed on my shoebox?

Windows 98 SE (second Edition)

that was the most stable and easy to use one of the lot.

if i recall correctly, no because it was old works enterprise key and enterprise editions cant upgrade but worth checking out when you get home

With what key, quote the Win7/Win8 key?

Seems a bit odd. Prob could find out if I google for three seconds.

Re: Windows

Windows 10 is to Windows 8, what Windows 7 was to Windows Vista.

I.e exactly the same, but people mysteriously like it for no reason.

That could be a coincidence or it could be that each one is a refined version of the previous one based on market feedback

Also, would I be right in guessing you ran Vista at some stage? It sounds like a Greg thing to do; run an operating system that crashes for no reason

+1 for reference

But in all seriousness, did run WinME, Windows Vista and never had any issues with any of them, they've all been solid for me, as was Win8/8.1

I suspect it's not so much the product, but the time it takes for it to be gradually accepted, as any IT person will tell you, people hate change, even if it's actually a positive change.

He probably dropped his computer off at a computer store to get Vista installed and it just sat there for 3 years until the shop closed down, then spent another 2 years at a different shop before he even got to crash it for himself

One of the older managers at work has One (Metallica) as his ringtone - thought this was cool and inter-generational until I realised I'm just f**king old myself

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
