Not for a few more years at least. The OPEC announcement won't change a whole lot it just restored some confidence that something can be done to hopefully limit the Saudis and Russians trying to undercut the Americans. I think the Saudis are in trouble soon...
But this unconventional thing is a double edged sword. The more that is found and is profitable, the less finite the resource is. So looking 5 years down the track, I don't think itll get back to $100 a barrel. Everyone involved is looking to retire before then.
As for undervalued... Otto energy is exploring in 3 different locations, their great bear section of Alaska is next door to 88e and is further ahead in exploration but worth 4.5cents still. Due for some results in dec-jan. If it's not amazing news 88e will take a big hit.

OPEC announcement is just an example of how much people will move on the smallest of news. Off that alone you've seen 10% intra week. When big news hits they move big, which gave us the ten bagger last time. With that kind of drastic movement, a dollar within 5 years is no more unrealistic than expecting the company to succeed. There is plenty of big news to come, but the long term ace up my sleeve for this one has always been the price of oil currently being in a slump because of the Saudi's greed and pride, which is eventually going to screw them over when they realise how cheaply they've f**ked off their second biggest export (first being female oppression amiright). 88E's resources are so far looking like a conventional/unconventional hybrid...profitable at levels much lower than your average fracking operation; it was actually said not long ago that current levels would be profitable, let alone a return to glory, which IMO is inevitable. I won't go into huge detail here, but 88E's resources are looking way more attractive than most unconventionals including neighbouring Otto. If Basinki is right we are in the absolute sweet spot for drilling.

Basically, I'm happy that you don't expect the price of oil to return quickly...I'm counting on everyone else to think the same way, as that is holding the SP down long enough for me to accumulate and rely on increases I predict will come later on and steadily drive up the SP. Long term, the share is a great prospect to me, but my 200%+ short term profits have been made from knee jerk reactions of pessimistic investors turned optimistic, so bring on more!

Early impression of the Federal RS-RR vs shagged out AD08R - a fair bit less road noise on these, I'm guessing mostly because my rears were nearly bald before I replaced. Regardless, that's still a plus for the Federals which I expected to be noisy. I know there's an improvement in noise from RS-R to RS-RR.

Gave a squirt on slightly damp road and she stuck well, but new sticky tyres will do that. Need more dry road and more time.

A big variable to test is that I've gone from 265 to 245 because I read these tyres run wide. They probably do a little, in that the 245 appears to sit where a 255 AD08R would.

Scratch that - some serious road noise above 60km/h - hoping it fades with some run in. Can't hear it unless music low/off and it IS holding 1st and 2nd on post-damp roads no problems, which is super for $180 tyres. See how long they last...

was chatting to Richo re the rs-rr on the weekend

apparently they don't heat cycle well, give them a good thrash on the track and they go off in a couple sessions.

friend was running one of the R32 GTRS on the weekend on rs-rr's as well and 2 track days in and they gone.

I don;t think I would be running them personally.

one I think i'm going to try however is the Nankang  NS-2R ,

they running them on Starr's BMW and the feedback so far has been nearly as good as RS3's for 120$ a corner.

next time I do a day will throw a fresh set on to try.

maybe your car was just tuned on a hub dyno and doesn't make much power

and yeah starr's bmw did a 1:40 around winton too n/a don't forget - pretty good!

Most of my racing happens on the street anyway, but will see at least one track day before a change. When are we at PI next?

next year..hoping to be back by then, will depend on date.

really want to go back to winton tho, as not been back since the crash and need to prove a point

That you're capable of doing a warm up lap?

Oddly, the noise of the federals went away above 80 so it's a resonance between 60 and 80. Was silent at highway speeds which is a relief...can actually go long distance without irritation.

On a wet but not raining road it held well, kicked out very slightly full throttle in second, but it was very predictable and no spin in 3rd. I'm happy with that for a dry tyre. Will try some twisties on the weekend to see what the sidewalls are all about.

Shit I didn't even start a warm up lap...that started 20 meters after the crash.

but sooner or later one must return to the sceen of the crime.

done sandown a few time and mallala just not been back there.

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
