Gearbox is the same both the ZF 6 speed auto box, might be slight differences in the tune of it though I guess.

You'd assume the FPV would be stronger though pushing more power through it, I think the 5.0L like mine has been strengthened in parts

I think it'll be more related to suspension components - FPV and HSV use different suspension in their sedans maybe they do it with utes too? It's probably firmer in the F6 or with less travel.

From what I've read you can fit up a 2300kg Hayman Reese HD Kit to the F6 just fine, Ford limit the rating to 1600kg because they didn't want to deal with warranty issues that could arise from people wanting to tow a 2300kg caravan around australia and still be covered by a new car warranty on something worth $75k.

Same gearbox, same towbar mounting points, better brakes, engine makes more power/torque... Suspension should be fine, there's plenty of travel in it standard... nothing near coilovers which I see people tow with *sigh* bloody Club FG

Will be fitting an external trans cooler to the ZF when I get the towbar fitted. For the very odd occasion that I do tow, I'm happy to take the risk... Can't really find any figures on GVM though :/

Mine was offers over 420 or something, offered 395 and got it (was willing to pay 420 at the time for it too) I think my short settlement time helped and it was like just before xmas

And yeah you can tune the ZF gearbox, when I got my engine tuned they did gearbox too.. got rid of that torque reduction between gear changes *Fart noise*

Wow that's rare...must have been keen to offload.

I'm used to adding 10% to the price to account for REA underquoting, particularly when it comes to auctions, but please...why do I have to keep changing the goalposts. They are either dishonest or shit at their jobs...one of these is true.

18 months ago when first looking at properties we had sights set on a 540-590k auction range townhouse in Chelsea. REA said owners would likely take 600 if we offered that, we thought bugger it wait for the auction might get it for 590 or less. Opening bid of 650 lol...sold for 760.

Another property I was looking at recently seems to go up in price the longer it sits on the market. This is a listing that had no price on it. First phone call before inspection "owners are looking for high 500s". Ask in person at inspection "based on turnout today we're expecting low 600s". Asked different agent on second inspection "640 would buy it". Check real estate app and it's not got a fixed price on it of 650 lol

It's as if the lack of offers the first time round only made them more determined to attract the wrong buyers and waste everyone's time.

Might be different to how the eastern suburbs operate, but otherwise I think it'll go for 830 when the dust settles. And they'll probably subdivide the block too lol

REA remove the range after the last inspection...

They actually sound like a solid car, stood the test of time for sure. People in the UK saying to steer away from dealerships and use german specialists instead, which is smart. Problems with active suspension, so people saying to just get coilovers lol

Sounds like Trent has already made it a weapon. Also it cant tow, so its no Falcon.

I've generally seen the estimate drop on first offer...as it not like you screen shotted the estimate prior to submitting!

 

i'm leaning toward 880, for a knock down house with a drop toilet out back (shown as a shed on plan) plus a septic tank out back that needs removal.

 

perfect location and super fast internet however are plusses

 

 

 

 

You have to ask what you're going to get from the RS6 that you can't get from other similarly performing cars, like an XR6 turbo that would cost 20k and offer much the same tuning potential minus the headaches of a Lambo engine that will leave you well and truly screwed if it pops.  Makes sense for a tuner or workshop to own one where a lot of the components can be custom fab'd. Advantages I can think of:

- Different/exclusive

- Arguably better looking

- More luxurious (but significantly so?)

- Does it handle any better?

- V10 sound

- Safer?

But not 60k worth of advantages IMO. That car is probably a lot cheaper and better supported over in Europe. Here it's just another overpriced VAG product that in standard form will get stomped by tuned Jap cars, in modified form get stomped by tuned Aussie cars...and being 8 years old has an equipment level about on par with a new 1 series. But if it's a childhood dream car that's difficult to argue against...

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.  
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack. 
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
