Underquoting laws came into effect today

Half the prices are now missing from realestate.com.au app ?

Never seen so many listings saying "contact agent"

Dishonest cunts

I'm gonna wager the RS6 has at least 300kg on the XR6 turbo and would need an extra 100hp at all times to keep up beyond the launch.
Put it this way...if my goal was a 10 second car, I know which one I'd be starting with. You'd pull it off well before you got to the purchase price of the Audi, which is a comfortable sleeper at best. And by sleeper I mean the electrical/mechanical problems that await you.
My own view of most expensive Euros is that they become largely useless once they are outside their warranty periods and outside of VIP faggotry or baller lyf P players, which is one reason they die in the ass hard for resale.

Stock the rs6 is a high 11s car, with nothing but a tune it's low to mid 11s, the packages after that give you 900-1000hp.

200kg difference between them.

I mean a current gen golf r/s3 will go high 11/low 12 with a tune, exhaust and an intercooler.

Got a source for RS6 quartermile times? That sounds optimistic to me for the V10 model. Regardless, none of that negates my point that the same results can be achieved for substantially less in a probably more reliable and cheaper to repair way.

Also struggling with 12 second flat from R/S3 with just that. I'd believe breaking into the 12s...but am feeling a turbo swap to get a high 11 out of them. They would need another 100kw at least...

Granted. It's probably cherry picked run but high 11/low 12 should be possible with basically any run if your best is 11.7

Wow if that is the stock turbo...are they laggy or just amazing tech?

F6 seems to do similar stuff with flash tune and exhaust

I imagine life gets very expensive once you go beyond that for the Golf

Mid 11s seem to be about the limit I reckon for a street driven, street tyre, street surface RWD car.. I thought about modding mine further but already can't get off the line on the street :P

On-roll races ftw! not that I do that anyway these days, too old and responsible.

Do like a good 3rd gear 200km/h powerskid though

gets expensive at this point.

the tunes for these just seem to be to lean them out massively so it's not really a if but when scenario.

Yeah but not like you've ever run a real decent set of tyres on it...

Flat-brim friend who went from pulsar to S15, to wanting a GTR and then wanting a Golf... Got off his P's and then bought a HSV lol.

Now post videos of him and friends doing prinny runs on weekends.

The circle of life continues. I only know one other Asian with a V8 commodore. What happened to TurboDragon anyway?

So what power does a stock Golf R make?

And what power does one with a tune, exhaust and cooler make and cost?

Damn so many golfs on the street these days they will just cream me i spose lol

Ive been in a launched Golf R and it was quick from a launch but died down afterwards

They are a big stock turbo compared to what they tune it to. In "stage 2" trim you are around 250kw at the wheels. So it doesn't really hit hard until 3000-3500.

Even mid 11 isn't usable on the street for a rwd car, as soon as you give it anything in 3rd or below you are doing power skids.

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
