Will be Attending as well.

Newcastle side.

Last year there was around 10 of us from Newcastle, will there be a Thread to organize that?

Can post one up sure :)

Might need some suggestions with meet locations as not too familiar with the area.

Yes, it's been arranged before that Newie guys arrange or advertise your own rendezvous point so you can reach the Halfway House by 11.30.

(I'm not sure though Chris, that if there's no Exec among them, CAMS coverage is valid only after joining the main convoy).

Would people be interested in going to the Downshift meet in the afternoon after we finish the cruise, Obviously not apart of SAU cruise but thought it could be fun heading over to the event together?

Unsure about the Cams situation.. Is that a problem?

up till the point we have joined the main group, it just means we are "on our own" in a way?

On a couple of former Putty Road cruises there were Execs from the Central Coast so there wasn't an issue.

In 2010-11 there was a deferment of the annual Putty Road cruises due to SAU.NSW running Legends Nights.

And last year, I only got to go 40mins and then stopped to escort a guy with an overheating GTR back to a workshop.

So I should let an Exec answer your enquiry on this occasion.

CAMS insurance coverage is only from the meet point (McDonalds on Groves Ave) to the destination (The Royal Hotel, Singleton). And only if your between the lead and trail car, which will be announced on the day.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. So basically we are on our own till we join you.

Either way, it shouldn't be a problem if everyone takes care and doesn't do anything foolish.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
