5 in a row is as many as Hamilton has ever managed!

And only 7 other drivers in history have won 5 or more in a row!

http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1/history/consecutive-wins-in-f1/

Now 7 in a row, equalling Schumacher and Ascari's record and only one other driver has ever in F1 history won more consecutive races - Vettel...

It has also put Mercedes 2nd in team consecutive wins, equaling Ferrari's 10, with Rosberg contributing more to that tally than Schuey did over Rubens. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2016/05/02/mercedes-poised-to-equal-wins-record/

Team Wins First Last Drivers

McLaren 11 1988 Brazilian Grand Prix 1988 Belgian Grand Prix Ayrton Senna (7), Alain Prost (4)

Ferrari 10 2002 Canadian Grand Prix 2002 Japanese Grand Prix Michael Schumacher (6), Rubens Barrichello (4)

Mercedes 10 2015 Japanese Grand Prix 2016 Russian Grand Prix Nico Rosberg (7), Lewis Hamilton (3)

Red Bull 9 2013 Belgian Grand Prix 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel (9)

One more to equal McLaren's 28yo record....

Maybe the stars will align and Homo will get a car that works at a GP he gives a fk about. Maybe. Or Sebastian McSwearface will not back off half way through a corner and get shunted again.

These sorts of records are all bullshit anyway. Jim Clark won his championship (One of two) in 1965 with 6 wins out of a 10 race season. Except he didn't turn up to Monaco so it was 9 races. Worth 54 points in total for the WDC. About what you get for winning in China & Mongolia or similar.

Cars are massively more reliable than they ever were and advantages gained are so entrenched by the rules and politics as to be laughable. Used to be just Ferrari would veto bad decisions because it gained them a temporary advantage. Now everyone does it.

modern era is all pretty much the same- certainly for Schumacher, Vettel, Hamilton etc. If anything cars have been less reliable in the past few years than any other time in the last 30yrs! Similar season lengths, but that doesn't really matter anyway - consecutive wins carry over. And points don't come into it.

They just stuffed up strat wise. Shit happens unfortunately.

Yeah pretty much how i saw it. Split the strategies, they even said at the start that the 3 stop was supposedly quicker so on paper it probably was a good idea

yeah everyone had said the 3 stopper was better and they gave the lead driver what they though was the best strat and the other the alt and just turns out the latter was better...

is that why they dont allow alternate strategies at merc?

Problem being his pace on his second last tyre set was rubbish. They looked to be going away at the end worse than Verstappens. Problem with that observation was there was a point midway through the race where Vestappens pace fell away and I thought his tyres are shot. But they hung in there so who knows.

Anyway RB looked to have two good drivers neither of whom appear to be knobs. First time ever?

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
