OK ladies and gents.

I have been lucky enough to be allowed to borrow an original ADM R32 GTR rear number plate infill panel.

I know many ADM R32 GTR owners are worried about what would happen if someone was to rear end their car (I pray it never happens), as Nissan have discontinued these along time ago.

This could be your opportunity to grab one as a precautionary backup plan.

I am currently in talks with a local wollongong company, with an outstanding reputation, to take a mold of it and produce some copies.

I will be trialing fitment on my car with the first item to make sure it is 100% before any of this goes ahead.

The first item should be done in about a 2 - 3 weeks.

After that, time frame will be dependent on how many are ordered and is yet to be confirmed.

On completion, all items would either be picked up from me or posted at your expense.

Obviously the items will be in their raw form and will need to be prepped and painted (not the carbon, unless you want to), which will be up to you to organise after the fact.

The picture shows what the infill panel behind the number plate looks like on the car.

As you can see, it does need the JDM reverse lights to be relocated (if you are putting it on a JDM version), so it really is for the ADM owners, unless you want a custom light setup like I am doing.

Please note: unless I am 100% happy with the finish and fitment of the first copy to be produced, this will not go ahead.

Start Date: Tentatively around the end of March 2016 (pending quality and fitment)

End date: Around the end of April 2016 (1 month run time), subject to start date.

Actual Items on Offer: Replica of an ADM R32 GTR Rear Number Plate Infill Panel.

Cost:

Fiberglass: $250 each

Carbon Fiber: $400 each

There is no RRP on these as they have never been reproduced before.

But as an indication, i was quoted $770 for an average condition original over a year ago (kicking myself I didn't buy it)

Payment: Direct Deposit or EFT. Account details will be confirmed once this goes ahead.

Company: IFIBRGLASS.

Delivery: Either pick up from my house in Lake Heights NSW, or posted at your expense.

I will post up images of the first production item when fitted to my car, so everyone can see what they are getting.

The first item will be in fiberglass.

If any interest in the carbon item is shown, ill have the first carbon one made and test fitted again before anything goes ahead.

Let me know if you are interested and in what material and i will add you to the list.

Once the first is done and test fitted, i will confirm with you and organise payment from there on.

In, will go fibreglass for now... might change my mind.

Ill add you to the list :)

So I dropped the original off yesterday and the molding has begun.

I will be kept updated with photos and progress reports.

So as soon as i get the info, i will relay it here ASAP.

Mold has been done and first test item completed in record time.

Quality is top notch.

As you can see they are practically identical.

When i picked the first item and the original up they were having a play with some carbon fiber to see how it formed.

Even without being trimmed, it looked pretty good.

I will be test fitting over the next few days and will takes some pics when mounted.

I will also take some pics after my item is sprayed and fitted to the car.

Hey R32GOJIRA,

Do you have more details on the custom rear light setup that you are doing? Even a link if it's contained in another thread. I would be keen on the CF option if the fit is as good and there is a practical solution for me for the reverse lights.

Anfanee,

Do you have an ADM or are you doing a custom light setup too?

Cheers

Rob

I have a custom LED setup from zledslights.com

My original indicators are now dual purpose indicator/reverse lights.

When they are finished i could post a video.

So this is the fitment of the fiberglass item straight out of the mold with no sanding or modifications made at all.

Its not 100%, but not all bumpers will be exactly the same, plus the original flexes a little, whereas fiberglass is very rigid.

It is pretty good considering it has not been touched, but I am a little ocd and will make it sit a little more flush than it does straight out of the mold.

Very little sanding of the edges will be required before it can be painted and fitted.

First fiberglass item painted and fitted to my car.

VERY little sanding required around the edges.

Apparently the carbon test item is ready to be trial fitted too, just need to get the time to go out and test fit it and get some pics for you guys.

if it goes ahead, I am keen for fibreglass and think I could round up a few more people keen

Fiberglass will 100% go ahead.

I am just waiting to confirm the carbon fitment for those who may want it before i lock anything in.

I'll put you down on my list and once it goes ahead, i'll contact you to make sure you are still keen and organise payment.

Let me know if anyone you know wants one, they can organise it through you and i can take their payment through you, or you can get them to contact me.

Can you also source this? As just about everyone would need it except for the ADM cars.

Ill put you on my list for a fiberglass one and confirm when it goes ahead.

I can source the lights, but it might be easier to go straight to the source:

Carbon prototype test fitted.

It is only a matte finish with a few surface imperfections in the photos, but was done so mainly to test the weaves integrity when molded around the curves.

The finished product will be a flawless high gloss finish.

    • Also, I logged some data from the ECU for each session (mostly oil pressures and various temps, but also speed, revs etc, can't believe I forgot accelerator position). The Ecutek data loads nicely to datazap, I got good data from sessions 2, 3 and 4: https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-2?log=0&data=7 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-3?log=0&data=6 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-4?log=0&data=6 Each session is cut into 3 files but loaded together, you can change between them in the top left. As the test sessions are mostly about the car, not me, I basically start by checking the oil pressure (good, or at least consistent all day). These have an electrically controlled oil pump which targets 25psi(!) at low load and 50 at high. I'm running a much thicker oil than recommended by nissan (they said 0w20, I'm running 10w40) so its a little higher. The main thing is that it doesn't drop too far, eg in the long left hand fish hook, or under brakes so I know I'm not getting oil surge. Good start. Then Oil and Coolant temp, plus intercooler and intake temps, like this: Keeping in mind ambient was about 5o at session 2, I'd say the oil temp is good. The coolant temp as OK but a big worry for hot days (it was getting to 110 back in Feb when it was 35o) so I need to keep addressing that. The water to air intercooler is working totally backwards where we get 5o air in the intake, squish/warm it in the turbos (unknown temp) then run it through the intercoolers which are say 65o max in this case, then the result is 20o air into the engine......the day was too atypical to draw a conclusion on that I think, in the united states of freedom they do a lot of upsizing the intercooler and heat exchanger cores to get those temps down but they were OK this time. The other interesting (but not concerning) part for me was the turbo speed vs boost graph: I circled an example from the main straight. With the tune boost peaks at around 18psi but it deliberately drops to about 14psi at redline because the turbos are tiny - they choke at high revs and just create more heat than power if you run them hard all the way. But you can also see the turbo speed at the same time; it raises from about 180,000rpm to 210,000rpm which the boost falls....imagine the turbine speed if they held 18psi to redline. The wastegates are electrically controlled so there is a heap of logic about boost target, actual boost, delta etc etc but it all seems to work well
    • hahah when youtube subscribers are faster than my updates here. Yes some vid from the day is up, here:  Note that as with all track day videos it is boring watching after the bloopers at the start.  The off was a genuine surprise to me, I've literally done a thousand laps around the place and I've never had instability there; basically it rolled into oversteer, slipped, gripped and spat me out. On the way off I mowed down one of the instructor's cones and it sat there all day looking at me with accusing cone eyes as I drove past. 1:13:20 was my fastest lap, and it was in the second session, 3rd lap.  It (or me!) got slower throughout the day as it got hotter.
    • It sounds like you want what the Toyota Landcruisers have for their roof racks. Wanna know what you end up with? Rust holes in the roof, and water everywhere...
    • Discovered today that if I select reverse first and take my foot off the brake, then select drive, the drive indicator light works and so does the tiptronic gear indicator.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Does anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
