Ok new plan. If it does turn out that a high mount single can be made legal, what will support 600AWHP without lag that can be marked on a calendar?

engineering documentation will run you about $1,500 if it is built correctly first time around

Josh has engineered several big single cars so know what needs to be done from the get go to get it over the line. as oppose to building it, and then needing to spend more cash getting it compliant for engineering

one car is a holinger equipped 934whp R32 GTR with a 72 series precision (cant remember exact precision)

Isnt it funny, you speak to 10 peope and you will get 10 different answers to a question.

Spoke to Josh from Galvsport. Came across as a very knowledgable guy. I will be seeing him in about 2 weeks to finalise the plan of attack. He is sudgesting that for my purposes, a stroker kit is a waste of money. I will see more benefit from using better bottom end components and opening up the heads breathing capacity. Made sence when he said it. He also advised me to stya with the low mount twins. Once again, the sheer cost of the conversion and the engineering costgs to make it legal, simply outweigh any benefits. I should b e able to reach my goals from a smart low mount setup and proper engine setup to match. After giving me the idead of the cost difeerence between staying with a 2.6 and going to a stroker kit, I am thingking that I might be better of using the extra change to strengthen gtrs driveline compenents like diffs, clutch sng gearbox.

Will lay out a new plan once I have had a proper chat to him. Thank you every one for your sudgestions. Ihave learnt a huge amount from you guys. If you have any further advice, I am all ears.

Exactly as Pete said.

Machining

Labour to put in and out

Head freshen up

Cams

Bearings

Clutch

Injectors

And the list goes on.

$2-3 k is a drop in the ocean when you're talking about what you're about to do. That dofference falls IF you need a new crank or have to "prepare" your current one.

Might not be anything wrong with a well setup 2.6 but the 2.8 is always going to be better

So go a 30 then. Why skimp out on 200cc on next to nothing,

Rather sell the 26 less what u need, get a 30 get it built and $ to play with. You can get a fully forged and assembled 30 bottom end for 4k which is less than the parts of stroker kit.

Any each to their own I suppose. Choices, choices and more choices. We are pretty blessed to have so many options.

    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
    • You'd really have to pull it apart further to know, it least you can be confident that the one heading to the back is not connected any more. There was once a ground on the shifter seal mount too, your head unit issue could be that simple
    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
