May have to start a new thread regarding large HP and the way power is delivered, compared to say power figures around 250rwkw and how responsive it feels....

Although, as you say Joel , 300rwkw rb30det feels faster than a 300rwkw rb25det...

Im thinkin of gettin a TD06-19c, mattR had one and made 286rwkw on bp98 and 313rwkw with toulene.....

Decisions decisions.

Dont want to sound like a non believer, but that is great power out of a TD06-19C. Not doubting that figure, but doubt everyone usign that turbo would see that power output...what boost level and did the engine live of was it a case of good whille it lasted?

Dont shoot me, im just curious because i havent seen those figures out of the larger TD06-20g on RB25s

In a jap mag there is a 2.2ltr EVO8 that made 373rwkw using a HKS 3037ProS.

Sounds a little optimistic.

I'll try to get a scan of it. Its in jap writing but.

I'd like to see that !

What ever turbo you choose, the first factor is how much lbs/min the compressor is going to push out. Then probably turbine restrictions, be it in the (too small) exhaust housing or (std) exhaust manifold.

The 20G wheel is roughly the same size as a HKS 2835R wheel - max is ~45lbs/min so around 450 flywheel hp.

The 25G wheel is roughly the same as the HKS 3037S - max is ~55lbs/min so around 550 flywheel hp.

The 19C wheel is alot smaller than the 20G wheel and a very different design. Interesting quote on chassis dyno kw for this compressor.

enrico i was pulled over and defected the other week. the highway patrol went all over my car including the turbo which is HKS GTRS. I had no heat shield so the turbo was clearly visable, i told him it was all standard. He didnt have a clue and just got me for the rest of the stupid stuff...

Anyone had any bad experiances with t4/t3s on rb20s? or wat power they were able to make?

I've bought one with hks high mount manifold n gate n was just after a bit of advise.

Have a read through the "Top RB20 club, 260rwkw " thread as there is a lot of good info and results from various RB20 configurations.

As a comparison I have a T3/T4 hybrid type turbo with internal gate and make around 235rwkw at around 16psi which is seen just before 4,000rpm in 4th on a dyno.

Besides the turbo/manifold/gate what else do you have to complement it?

ive got a Wolf ecu 4 it, AVCR, 3" exhaust, front mount, bosh pump, 550 injectors n looking at some tomie cams. Wat do you think would be possible?

Prolly gettin parts fitted bout a month or two........hopefully!

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
