FS [SYD]: RB25DET Stock Bottom End, Head (or complete but dissembled) - the lot $400

Hai,

So most of you active SAU people might know, my Edward Lee's (Special Edition) Low KM motor finally exploded - which took out my turbo too. I had this big plan to rebuild it, make it a weapon but a few things in life got in the way so that's not going to happen anymore. Instead I am going to put another used motor in and call it a day.

Engine can come complete, although dissembled or parted as per the prices below. Water pump, timing kit are all under 3 years old and less than 20 000km (so can be easily reused for a cheap rebuild). Also has ARP non-2000 studs.

Cylinders 1 & 6 are cooked.. bores slightly scratched and head has some shrapnel marks.

---------------------------

$400 motor minus hotside, coldside, flywheel, coil packs, all ancillaries not included

OR

$200 head, cams, cam caps, cas, VCT, covers, valves. pretty much complete, no head studs

$200 bottom end, water pump, crank, timing belt, idler/tensioner, knock sensors, sump, blah blah., no water outlet

$100 full set of ARP non-2000 head stud/nuts/washers - torqued once only

---------------------------

Location: Canley Vale, NSW 2166
Contact: Here or PM

Hope someone buys it, gives me some money to invest in a new used, non Edward Lee' SE motor lol

Hi Johnny,

Do you still have the head studs? Pardon my ignorance, but what is "non-2000"?

Just sold them on Friday :(

There is ARP and there's ARP 2000, which is much much stronger. Some people get confused between the two.

Will sell head/bottom end, everything as pictured except the coolant neck, electricals, coldside/hotside/coil packs for $300

BUMP

Take the head (complete with covers) and block (no sump, no pickup, no ancillaries, no water outlet) for $200

Pending pickup tomorrow - prospective buyer only needs a crank but picking up the entire motor lol

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
