Engine out. That looks serious! Hopefully serious upgrades not seriously broken.

After my upgrades, I am sitting at 360 awkw @ 20psi. I did a subset of the original plan. The main thing is just how much nicer the car is to drive with modern injectors, better ignition and e85.

All preventative thankfully...

-head gasket

-head studs

-oil pump gears

-general inspection

-and engine bay respray

what turbos you go to make 360 @ 20psi?

That sounds like some good items to tick off before more go faster bits.

Still using -9s but 2psi more plus e85 etc.

good results, definitely could pump a few more psi in there now you're running E85 if you wanted.....

25 psi if you have head studs, head gasket etc shouldn't be too much of an ask.....

That's a lot of power for -9's, especially only at 20psi.  What other mods do you have?

Performance stuff:
Plazmaman intercooler (the smaller one not 100mm)
1000cc injectors
Walbro 460
AC Delco coils

Other stuff that may be relevant but probably marginal benefit:
Built engine
Trust front pipes
Apexi exhaust
Apexi pods

Are you still running factory intake piping?

Yes. Factory intake piping, BoV and manifolds.

that's what i wanna hear ;)

I got this divided charge pipe made not too long ago, if you are unsure about buying a whole intake piping kit.

Are you running any cams?

I'm still running factory air box, so maybe that's my problem.  Or maybe because I'm running R35 injectors at factory fuel pressure.  I read somewhere that R35 base fuel pressure is 1 bar higher and that's why it can get that much power out of 570cc.  Not sure if that's true.

Just to clarify, the power output is based on e85 and not 98.

My cams are factory.

I recall reading that the air box is good for 400kw. I just felt like hearing some more whoosh.

As for the injectors, mine were rubbish and needed to be replaced regardless of any power goals. I thought that you needed a higher cc rating than 570 to support e85 (on an RB26).

already running the divided piping, pretty much a necessity...

ye 570cc injectors will get you nowhere near 400....

Mine should be fairly close to your modification list once finished @Robzilla32, only I'm keeping factory airbox but i'll be running some mild cams and slightly larger turbos...

My goal is 350kw without e85, that's why I thought the 570cc would get the job done.  I rarely drive mine and a full tank would last 2-3 months, so I can't really run e85.  I also thought running R35 injectors with R35 AFMs should be a friendly combo to Nistune.

Getting closer at 315kw during my last pull.  Bought a 76mm Plazmaman but yet to install it, still waiting for my tuner's dyno to be repaired...

Nah, who told you that?

Any injector is Nistune friendly, especially on Feature Pack 1 and 2

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
