Brake pedal Noise

Hey Guys

JUst noticed when the car is running on my r32 gtr and booster activated when i depress the brake pedal it make a wooshing sound like a bellows pump

havent noticed it before..is it normal? or if not what could cause be? brakes seem to be working as normal..

slippers very appropriate for this time of year.

sure sounds like you have an air leak, and probably in the booster itself. In the engine bay there is an air line from the rear of the plenum, through a 1 way valve, into a cannister and then into the brake booster. Check each of those lines for splits and make sure the 1 way valve is working (ie, you can blow air through from the engine side, but not the cannister side). 

But I think most likely the booster has a leak. You can replace with second hand or reconditioned one.

No. The pedal actuating rod has to pass through the diaphragm. They can leak there. Make a lot of whooshing noises. Only leaks when you stroke it.**

ahhh so it is leaking cause yea sounds like a air pump when u depress the pedal..if i have to replace is there a upgraded model or something better to replace it with?

foot on pedal.. start engine ..pedal moves down a inch.. doesnt that mean booster is working?

Booster can work and still leak. Or vice versa.

There's no upgrade and no need for an upgrade. You can take them to a (proper) brake shop and get them rebuilt for not much.
