Sure, you will find lots of pics of R33 GT-R's... where they belong,  on a GTR, not on a wanabe GTR.

Meh, it's not really a huge deal IMO. But the GTR bumper definitely does not fit a stock GTST unless you do the whole front-end swap. The R33 GTST 40th anniversary supposedly has this optional bumper though that I think looks pretty good and theoretically should fit up like OEM?:

tbh if I had a 33 I would be putting a GTR bodykit on it. There's merit in OEM plastic and steel over fibreglass etc etc etc. I never was able to find rear guards for a R33 GTST-> GTR conversion mind you, but as I do not have a R33 this is quite a minor issue for me personally 😛

The R33 I think makes a lot more sense to do a GTR conversion, the GTST front end is just kind of strange from the factory for reasons I don't quite understand. Even then I'd struggle to justify all the work it takes to do the change properly. Parts are insanely hard to source and cost a mint when you do.

🤢

fibreglass version, it's made to fit the smaller fenders and narrow body bumper support.

This guy took out the reinforcement bar to do a test fit of the GTR bumper on his S2 GTS25t:

here's the resulting gap

So even S1 to S2 is different.

Woohoo!  A helpful response lol. It’d be easy to put a spacer under the bumper to lift it up so it sits without a gap. Looks like a good fit. Thank you!!!

'sif you'd fit a genuine GTR bar to a 33 GTST anyway, these days. The fact that fibreglass "GTR" bars for GTSTs exist should be sufficient to indicate how it should be done if you want it to look that way, and fit.

I have a fiberglass GTR replica now. But I daily the car, and fiberglass breaks too easy. I don’t want to have to be super cautious on speedbumps, or pulling up to parking spots, or dips in the road. I just hate fiberglass body parts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
