I put my new-to-me Stagea on a dyno today. I don't know the history of this car, so I thought I'd get a baseline. You know, figure out my starting point before I change a couple things up. I thought some of you may be interested, so I've attached an image of the 2nd dyno run.

Results are decent: 252.54 ft-lbs (342 nm) and 292.78 hp (218 kw) peak at the wheels and 311.29 ft-lbs (422 nm) and 359.38 hp (268 kw) peak at the crank. The car has a cat back exhaust and mushroom filters on it, but the rest is unknown. Since it's supposed to have around 280 hp stock, I'm guessing something else has been done to the car. No way a cat back and air filters gave me 80-ish hp. Time to do some poking around and figure it out.

0.8 bar is nearly 12 psi, so you have a little more boost than stock. Nowhere near enough to explain the amount of power it made at that boost, so it's going to be fair to assume that you have bigger turbos on it. -7s or -9s or something similar perhaps.

Maybe. I haven't had a chance to dig into the engine bay. It didn't come with a mod sheet, so I need to go on a fact finding mission.

Sounds like it might be a *good* fact finding mission for a change! :D

RB26's have a restrictor in the boost line. Pop this out and it'll run 12psi all day. Maybe check this is still in place?

That's a good piece of info. I'll have some time this weekend to check it out. Don't even have to put it on a lift! 👍

  • 1 month later...

Took longer than a weekend to get to it, but I finally took the time. The boost controller is in a different spot on the Stagea (between the battery and fuse box), but the hose with the yellow line was there. Sure enough, the restrictor was still in my car. Woot! 50% more boost for 20 mins and $0 USD ($0 AUD at current exchange rates 😜).

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
