So...to my (and my mechanics doing the swap) surprise...the oil pan from NEO engine does not fit 100% and needs to by modified like this:

It is not a huge problem but in the future i want a "proper" oil pan.

So question is...what different oil pan can i get to fit without any problems and modification?

Thanks!

I don't know if @MBS206was suggesting that you were trying to drive traffic to your/a Youtube channel, but what is certainly clickbait about that video is that the content is sorta....non-content. Because, we (ie, established RB engine savvy people) all know that the pan rails are different between RWD and AWD RB blocks and that there are long known solutions for fitting AWD blocks into RWD chassis, etc etc.

I mean, like Matt, I didn't even bother to watch the video.

Clickbait title, made it sound like you wanted information, instead you just wanted free views on your YouTube channel.

No issue doing that, but instead of making new topics, create a build thread, and you can post the YouTube videos in there.

Added to it, people can then build further discussion around your build.

This sort of creation of a topic like you have is like what scammers and spammers do on other websites like FB "oh look at this cool thing, just click this link and go elsewhere".

Prank doesn't need to pay the fees when a google hit finds your topic and someone is looking for that info, just for that person to be immediately driven away to a larger platform that doesn't support the enthusiasts here.

I think both of you missed the actual point of the thread and question asked by Kapr:

The video is just an example and not his channel.

Im really confused if that's what he's trying to say. :/ (brain hurts, sitting in darkened room staring at too many computer monitors right now...)

So he's saying during his build, they modified the oil pan, and instead of taking photos to show us how he had to do it, he posted a link elsewhere to a video, and now wants us to tell him the right pan he could swap to, or a custom/aftermarket pan he could use instead?

Kapr, is that YouTube channel yours / that video yours?

If you have a RB25DET NEO AWD motor, you will need this:

https://www.hioctanedirect.com/ASR-RB26-RWD-Street-Comp-6.5L-Sump-Suit-R32/33/34-and-VL

It is made for the AWD motor, but makes it fit a RWD setup and gives you a new pickup.

Just one thing, the pickup sits quite forward, compared to a conventional RB25DET RWD motor. This may or may not have contributed to my previous AWD -> RWD shitting the bed at the track.

@GTSBoy yeah but the MAIN problem is that "you" guys may know that but i/my mechanic did not.
I literally spend hours to find differences between Stagea and Skyline engine (even here) and found kinda "nothing"
Yeah one guy mentioned that the block is larger/wider but nothing about the oil pan.
Of course AWD has different one but "everybody" says...yeah just slap RWD pan... and the parts number for my N/A engine and NEO DET were the same so iam using one from my old engine.
And of course being in EU/Czech many of the sites did not even show(i need VPN to be here)...

@MBS206NO it is not my channel and not my video. Dont even know the guy. I just post this as a reference cuz i have the same problem.
As i said you guys in AU/NZD may know this but here it is kinda a new info cuz IF someone doing this swap they already have oil pan or they make custom one.

@Dose Pipe Sutututu Yeah it is AWD RB25DET NEO
Yeah as you mentioned the pick up is in a different place ...but i do not drift or track the car. It is and will be strictly street and just "casual" weekend cruiser.
With that "custom" pan as shown in the video...could there be some problems?

For others. Iam sorry if that topic "looks" like i want to show/boost some YT channel or numbers.
Iam quite the opposite.
I would rather drive my car thru sewers than get the attention that this car gets here.
I do not have any YT channel nor IG/Twitter or TikTok.

I just want some info from time to time cuz here...there is none :-)

Not at all, pure street use, touge, even drag strip and you'll be fine :)

There's a larger version of it too, however would be overkill for your application.

If you do plan on using that sump, might as well fit a headdrain/crank case vent to help alleviate crank case pressure. Your mechanic will also notice you cannot re-use the AWD windage trays on the motor too, as it fouls with the AWD -> RWD sump. However given your usage, you'll be fine.

@Dose Pipe Sutututu ok thanks...i think it will do then :-)
Man i was extremely lucky to even find this engine. I looked for months 😄
@GTSBoy i did not noticed that 😄 ok that is out of the question...
@WMDC35 yeah i know but sadly the was not available so i need to use mine "or" some custom one but that would not fit in R34 without some heavy modification...

All and all thanks guys...i just want to know if and if not if that "custom" one would be ok for my use :-)

meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it.

A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good

Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)

I just post it cuz it clearly shows my problem...way better than i would take to explain that.

Yeah i think/hope he make it little bit better. And that RB is good. I got it from running car(even test drive it) so it is not some engine from unknown car from half across planet 🙂
