Now....I'll be down there from Monday until end of October, so I expect you all to

1) Organise a track day at each Vic track before then

Adz,

You have done very well mate, congrats.

I was following you for a while and you were driving pretty smooth.

Ferni,

To answer your question from the other thread, my oil temp was 100 degrees. Do not worry too much about the guides around the cooler core, but get some vents happenning in your guard lining to circulate the air.

Chris were having highish oil temps as well and he drilled some holes on the lining as a temporary fix. I forgot to ask him how much of a difference it made, but he will let us know when he signs in.

My corner speeds were comparatively lower than everyone else, which fully explains the slower lap times. It was probably the mixture of driver and rubber and there is a lot improve on both counts.

Snwoman,

That is one hot pic, but Geoff is definitely sucking it in. :P

Cheers mate, you were pretty good for street tyres too. Did you like my drift style show on corner 5? Didn't expect to see you facing towards me when I came round on the next lap! Thats what you get for trying to keep up with a GT-40 on slicks! :P Mind you later on Semi's I had a moment, managed to floor it and bring it round though.

Did you mean turn 6...? Not much of a drift action was happenning, you were mostly spinning them on a straight line. A lot of smoke though, the girls thought someone blew up. :D

You were too slow anyway, so i took you over. :D

Snowman,

You are soft and sexy and smell tough with a whiff of petrol scent. :bahaha:

Chris told me that his temps dropped from about 120 on sat to about 110 on sun with the holes in the wheel guard inner, and he was driving harder on the sun.

Bingo Andrew, there is the next mod you have to perform before the next track day.

If you are eager enough, you can manufacture some sort of a guide around the core as well. Here is what my HKS one look like :

It's in two pieces and bolted together.

ahhh i didn't realise there were 2 peices, i was just thinking it was the left (inside) peice... shouldn't be to hard to measure up and get made, but first i would like to do what you have done with the gtst guard inner

...and there she sat all day, all dressed up and no date :(

The boys discuss the Wallabies disappointing Sat night performance :(

I was happy to throw the tyres on everyones cars, as the only thing i could really salvage from the weekend was seeing the big smiles of others as they jumped out of their cars :) ...its the only thing that kept me going. Does Geoff ever stop smiling :D

Forget lap times and sticky rubber, who didnt have an off? You should be ashamed :flamed: If you dont spin you aint try'n :D ...

Had a couple of big moments in the wet with the tail wagging the dog, but I caught them...kinda. No offs or full spins. I'm smiling just thinking about it :)

The ability of the track rubber allows so much more confidence and suddenly the race cars were not pulling anything in the turns, so were slaughtered on the straights.

Talked to the guy with the GT Falcon after the event and he'd had a good day too but was a bit put out by getting done by skylines. Quote "And how would sir like his ass handed to him today"

Does Geoff ever stop smiling

Troy - check out the photo of Andrew, Geoff and Emre (posted above) - i dont see much of a smile there - although it must be the only minute of the whole weekend that he wasn't smiling.

What can we say - Geoff is just a happy guy

...and more.

Emre - thanks for the info on the oil cooler. Was at least 10-15 degrees cooler with those holes I made.

Andrew - i'm going to have to sabotage your car if I cant beat you soon....

Troy - get your biatch back on the road. I wanna see that Geoff style grin light up on your face.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
