Rez's R32 GTS-t Type M... presentable version!

Recommended Posts

What. Everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Why are a whole bunch of people picking on the R32 all of a sudden? Shan, you're at the forefront with the rice comments... just give it a rest eh? If you don't like it just keep it to yourselves.

Cause youre such an easy target :D

Seriously though you cant expect everyone to be kissing your ass all the time on an internet forum. You post pics of your car up you have to expect people to give you their opinions, which may differ from yours...........

I was gonna say that just because someone posts pics up of a car it doesn't mean it's open season for ricer remarks... I might add that this is my younger brothers car and he likes what he's doing so thats all there is to it.

Was I expecting people to kiss my ass was I Monk??? I think your concept of this thread is a bit off...

Correct, pics of a car dont mean its open season for ricer comments but you obviously want to hear peoples opinions on your car or you wouldnt have posted pics of it on the internet......

just because our opinions differ from yours theres no need for you to get all pre-menstrual about it.

Monk: Drop $10,000+ on your project and lets see how bubbly and enthusiastic you are when unknown internet users feel the need to drop their 2c on how they don't like certain things about it. It happens, I shouldn't concern myself about anonymous comments and I'm very well aware of that (thanks for the heads up anyway cobber :) ), but after the first 3 replies I could see where it was going so I got tired of it. 'Pre-menstrual' my ass

I'm not interested in this anymore so PM me if anyone wants to see anymore pics/updates.

Oh btw... this thread was to show the transformation of a fairly shitty R32 Type M to a semi-full rebuild that spanned 2 countries and $10,000+ in mods and to show 1 or 2 people that I did indeed have a car in Japan and wasn't making it all up... not to have my ass kissed.

lol rezz you need to take deep breaths... you of all people should know rice comments from me are to be taken with a pinch of salt (hello... knight rider style SKYLINE running lights, clear indicators and impul race shifter on a... R32 GTS :)).

In any case I'm a fan of your car since you got it (oh how I want ragamasters now) and what you've done to it... as are many other people. Now stop being a sook, if you don't like people's comments on your tail lights, say so, and people will stop due to the respect you've earnt on this forum.

Find pics from a democar in Japan with the same type of LEDs,

they will go :P:D:);)

Christian: Will do mate, just give me a few days. By the way, got any pics of your R32?

I will get some up soon.

you got the good dish, 18" impuls have a ghey stainless square dish, 19" have the nice rounded chrome dish... choice bro

Aaaah... now this man pays attention ;) your HCR looks tuff with that GT-R bumper/wheel combo too... I know your cars been like that for years now but I've always fancied the genuine 32 GT-R bumper on HCRs.

:D  But I want people to kiss my ass!!!

sorry rezzeh, i'm apparently too busy being a primate bangin' sex junket in uganda for that. ;)

BTW, you got your fenders and aero from aeromaster right? How'd you find the fit of it? did it all bolt straight up? Most of my kit (which I got from aeromaster) was OK, except the rear bumper that left some gaps under the tail lights, just wondering if you found the same.

here's my old R32 with the aeromaster kit, the new owner recently painted it Top Secret gold:

Shan, I thought your 32 was getting the BN widebody kit? What happened to that?

The Aeromaster wide fenders fitted very well indeed. For the (Japanese) money, they were top notch. A customer at the SuperAutobacs I used to hang around at had the R32 Aeromaster 'Type 1' kit, and the fit around the rear lights left fairly large gaps too... he said they didn't mount it properly even though the gap along the boot lid area between the lights was perfect? [scratch head]

whoaarr those rear lights suck ass!!!!!

and i love the impuls!!!  you got the good dish, 18" impuls have a ghey stainless square dish, 19" have the nice rounded chrome dish... choice bro

i'm pretty sure justin has the genuine equipes, not the copy 'impuls'.

i'm pretty sure justin has the genuine equipes, not the copy 'impuls'.

Aaaaah... not... really. Your a top bloke Richard but the wheels are one thing we did 'skimp on'. They're the fake ones :P

We went for the world (well Sydney's West) renowned Starcorp Impuls because my younger brother runs "Tech 9 Tyres" here in Perth and exclusively stocks all Tempe Tyres stuff. We half wanted to support his business and half wanted to save money... We did bid on spastic offset Fabulous wheels on the auctions at first, but when bidding exceeded the *very* good price we could get the Starcorps for, we opted for the brand new - but fake - Impuls.

Having said that, the Starcorps look almost legit in 19" with the proper curved outer lip. The 18" versions didn't pass scrutiny by a long shot (trying very hard not to piss anyone off!) with the squared off lip like silver gts-t mentioned. But the dish is decent, especially as we wanted to go for a 'GT-R offset' front and rear with the same width front and rear. Some people might object to that, but all I can say is wait till they're finished :(

Incidently, my S13 is ready to be picked up today with the RB20DET from the wine-red R32 all in place. It'll also get the 19" Starcorps with 9.5" front and rear... I'll put some pics up tomorrow.

hehe, i had misplaed my faith. well no matter it still looks good. I think maybe i'll appreciate the tailights more when the bumpers are painted as i think maybe the contrast of the white rear bar threw me off a bit.

it's always nice to see (well hear) an S13 with that typical straight six engine note. good work.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
