Japanese restaurants in melb...

Recommended Posts

Guys/girls...

I need recommendations on good Japanese restaurants in melb. as i am taking a young lass out Monday night for dinner...

Something upmarket is prefered, cost is not an issue. If anyone can help i would be very happy as yellow pages isnt helping much and i have never been to a Japanese restaurant before(this would be good practice too before my trip to Osaka).

I am sure some of you would be frequenting Japanese restaurants so please give me your reviews as well as address' etc.

There's a really cool one on Station Street in Fairfield enar the station, I go there and talk to the junior chef regularly (as I live near there) the main chef's chinese but this dude is awesome.

Well I am an onigiri FEIND and the best place to get that in Melbourne is Misuzu's!

Also they have a big selection of Saké (don't get the malty ones, unless you like malt)

Last time I took a chick there! SEXY time! Booyah... you gonna get some Jetdat! :(

9699 9022, 7 Victoria Ave Albert Park 3206

Open: Daily Noon-3pm, 5.30pm-10pm, Closed: Lunch On Public Holidays; Licensed; Seats Inside 58, Seats Outside 28, Private Room Seats Upstairs 26, Bar 50

If cost isn't an issue Silks at Crown. Food is excellent but not quite worth the $$ u'll be paying.

you mean Koko's? Silks is a Chinese restaurant at Crown. Koko's is the very upmarket jap place, awesome views, huge prices. Situated on 3rd floor Crown Towers. You won't be disappointed, interior/layout of the restaurant is the best I've ever seen..has a full jap pond/stepping stones inside.

Check out the menu on their site here.

Last time i went it was $60 just on drinks...for 2 people, so it's a bit dear :(

My familie favourtie...one which we have been going to religously for 8 years is called Futagos, its a korean / japanese

Its on high street kew next to the old police station, its not that upmarket....but ive been to places like flower drum and other highly expensive joints and nothing compares to this place. The flavour is just unbelievable, one of their entres called gyoza is a must..

your taking a yound lass out?

**looks @ jetdat's age** nice work

:) old guys get horny too you know :)

Silks is pretty good, but like somebody said - its more Mongolian/Chinese.. Its nice though.. most meals are around $50-60. You know its a decent place when there is $400 bottles of wine on the menu.

Koko's you gotta book months ahead dont ya?

Sometimes the less classy places that look like old run down houses converted to restaurants have the best food, coz your paying for the food not the dining experience.

But if yor goal is to get some at the end of the night then take her somewhere classy, chicks lather up that shit :P

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
