im not a battery expert.. but i dont think these batteries are similarly spec'd to the said odessey range of batteries......

the inside of the batteries are completely different.......

these batteries seem to be your common car battery.. sealed and maintanence free and lacking deep cycle.

I have had these on my jetskis ( smaller batteries ) for 21/2years now and they are still good , normal lead acid would only last 2 years .

I dont bother charging them in winter and they kickstart them after siting there for 6 months . I have to add that 2 strome engines are much easier to kick because of the low compression .

I thought deep cycle batteries are only for electric vehicles like golf buggies where they discharge slowly and constantly. Car batteries deliver quick burst of large currents and spend most of the time charging...

Why would car batteries be deep cycle?

anyway these batteries are $130 wholesale and they are the same sise as the odyssey 1200 , same specs as well

Odyssey design:

* 3 year full warranty

* Rugged Drycell sealed design

* Military grade

* Vibration resistant

* 60% more starting power

* Deep discharge reserve power <--- deep cycle?

* 2 year storage life

* 8-12 year design life

* Can be mounted in any orientation

im not saying you are selling inferior product wrxhoon... as i considered buying one of these from you.... but u were vague into what u were selling.....

i was under the impression i would have been purchasing a deep cycle battery at a very good price.... and perhaps there could ahve beeen others also...

comparision to the supercharge gold batteries would be more accurate i think...

big car audio in the boot.. is why you would probably want a deep cycle battery.....

for those after a deep cycle battery ... optimas and odesseys are still your path.. is what im trying to say.. thats all...

These can be mounted anyway you want as well , no they are not deep cycle and no the addessys are not deep cycle either . They are both a drycell sealed battery , i have broken up an oddessy battery and i know what they are .

I wasn't vague at all they are same construction as an oddessy and they are made in China , they dont come with the steel jacket that most oddessys come in australia with either . In the usa you can get them with a steel case or without and i dont know where the oddessys are made now, they use to be made in the usa .

No they are not like the supercharge batteries at all, supercharge are a wet cell low maintenance battery not drycell sealed .

If you want a deep cycle battery thats what you should be buying but dont forget they are not suitable for constant charging , so you should realy have 2 batteries if you have a huge sound system and a switch so you dont charge your deep cycle constantly .

The drycell batteries will last longer than normal wet cell ( usualy double the life ) and they crank the car even when they are almost flat but they dont have greater storage capacity that a similar wet cell battery, just greater cranking power .

They are ideal to install in the boot as they dont emit dangerous gasses .

hey mate,

as wrxhoon said, the supercharge gold batteries are nothing like the ones being sold (i have one of wrxhoons batteries)

supercharge gold are in fact a normal maintenance free battery(i used to have a semi sealed one), where as the ones that are being sold here are gel cell or dry cell and are similar to the oddessey range.

a real deep cycle would not be suitable for normal car use, maybe look up what a deep cycle battery is and then u will see that the oddesseys are not really a deep cycle battery.

either way, they are pretty much the same as an oddessey.

I am not an expert, but from what i could see by quickly having a look at the optima web site, these batteries would perform similar to a red top optima.

the yellow top are more towards a proper deep cycle battery for use in car audio applications, and not so much for starting the car all the time.

also note that the optimas have a heavy duty casing, these dont, just a normal plastic case like other car batteries. (not relevant anyway when u are installing it in your boot...)

Well I'm in for one of these batteries, would there be any others in order to get the GB price going ahead?

You have a p.m.

lol geezz muck ;) ... what do you expect this battery to do? make you breakfast...?

ive had one of wrxhoon's batteries for about 2 -3 months now i think...

and it does everything it should... it allways starts the car, i can use my sound system for ages with the car turned off and then still crank the car over fine... and its 100% sealed so no dangerous gasses

for $130 i dont think you can go wrong... all you bloody snobby brand name fools lol

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
