I've been given several yellows (and always pass pits first time with very little effort...) but you really have to worry about these new Hwy "hoon" patrol cars.

They will sticker you for ANY minor reason. The lovely people i've dealt with so far love causing problems. Coming back from freo, doing UNDER the speed limit, having just passed a speed camera, a hand held and a booze bus and all of a sudden this clown pulls some dumbass manourve and has his sticker book out before i even get out of the car...

Asking for his details didnt upset him, congratulating him for doing his job to the best of his abilities and making the community safer did though :(

That said, MOST police do a great job. I've dealt with probably 20 coppers in the last two years (including yellow's, a couple of big fines and some other non traffic stuff..) and only had problems with the hwy patrol..

These days if i see a silver hwy patrol car i stop and wait till they leave. They love locations frequented by nice cars, so beware!!

ahhh.. why did i not expect this....

had you bothered to read the entire post you will find out that the officer who issued the sticker to me actually extended it, upon my dad informing him im not part of the street racing/dragging car clubs that are around that area.

are you just jealous, or really a dickhead?

In response from your original thread; I have found the guys at Welshpool are always of good spirit and fair. I have heard bad things of Warwick and also not to sure of East Perth.

I have had only one Yellow and it was not on my import I have had for over a year. Actually I haven't been pulled over in the Skyline at all. The Yellow I got was for having a V8 in a Commodore that was only registered for a 6. Fair enough - I was in the middle of an engine conversion. But how did they pull me over? They actually weaved through busy traffic just to get to me. I wasn't doing anything stupid, just keeping under the speed limit. The car itself is immaculate. Makes me think that I would have maybe got one anyway for an "oil leak" or something else riduculous.

You don't have to be rude to get a crooked sticker. If they don't want your car back on the road because of the car itself they will do it as well. I have seen it a bit with large body kits and dodgy looking cars.

That sux! My girlfriend got pull over yesterday for a "random vehicle inspection" and only got a warning. Now she has two bald tyres, no right brake light, no front right indicator, the ceiling lining is falling down, there is a burning smell coming from the engine, it's missing the gear lever boot, theres shit all through it and it hasn't been washed in like 3 years!

AND SHE ONLY GOT A WARNING!!!!!!!!

Ahahah, I got a yellow on one of my old cars for the "Sports Pedals" debarkle, the very next day my girlfriend at the time gets pulled over with exactly the same type of pedals, only one brake light and one indicator and gets a warning also.

Also when I went to the pits to get my most recent yellow sticker off for

"Intercooler - Aftermarket fitted"

"Strut brace - Aftermarket fitted"

"Air Filter - Aftermarket fitted"

The inspector saw the slip the officer wrote out and chuckled saying "Hahah, there's nothing on here that makes your car unsafe, what a tosser that cop was"

(Needless to say my tint didn't help me pass on that particular inspection:()

and she has tits :headspin:

Yeh lagwagon!!!! his dad being a cop had nothing to do with the extension, nothing at all. Cant if you be reading or what!!!

0.08, is that 'all' she blew????

mitchy, have a look at your posts, saying 'my dad did xxxxxxx' and he's a copper, sounded like you were bragging, why mention he is a copper if its not relevant???? doesnt make sense. Also, you mention you have no family living here??? so your dad lives where???

If you try and remeber that other members can only judge by what you have written, you might find that your posts seem a little different in other peoples eyes. They certainly did to me.

Not trying to be rude, but it sounded to me like you were a bit annoyed at being given a sticker in the first place, hell, if you had bald tyres, what do you expect. ANYTHING that makes a car look unroadworthy should receive attention, if you own a nice car that attracts attention, ie people look at it, coppers will look at it too. Just be grateful you got your extension, it sounds a little unreal to me that you would get any extension if your tyres are unroadworthy - I think you are very lucky, or perhaps, have friends in the right places.

I am pretty sure the average guy wouldnt get such treatment.

And while we are on the subject I also absolutely hate boy bands & that tart who does seven news.

LMAO!

I got pulled over about a month ago, the cops, amoung other things, said "It's good you've kept the mods light, the big mods are just too easy to sticker"

  • 3 weeks later...

sorry to bring up an old thread, but i figured it's easier this way.

Got yellowed last night for this and that (exhaust, seatbelt not functioning properly (didnt even know that myself), oil leaks and deposits to be rectified (?)) I have until wednesday (27/4) according to my slip. and i got done last night (friday). Considering i have one working day to fix these things, i dont think its very fair...

now having said that, i was wondering how long you usually receive to get it fixed? Does it differ depending on what mods you're done for, how unsafe it is, how much sex the cop has received in the last week/month etc etc?

i was given 1 hour for my bald tyres, and they were changed, each extention i have got has been for 2 weeks..

pretty much depends on the reason for the yellow, and the amount of sex the cop had..

my 1 hour was extended to 3 days, the next day, due to me already having the car booked in, and being done 3 days before it was due to go in.

then the other extentions are only for things like BOV, apparent lowness, etc nothing really that will affect the car to much of a degree, so they got 2 weeks each.

1 hour to get your tires changed is acceptable & f****d up at the same time. First, they shouldn't be below the limit in the first place, but second giving you just an hour to get them changed is weird.

Glad it all went well for you though.

how bald is the question? -- if there was canvas or belts showing you are lucky they didnt red sticker it on the spot .

High power car + crap tyres = just a matter of time

Not having a go at you but i cant believe how many high powered cars i see with bald tyres on them - i was almost taken out by a commodore that threw a rethread off at 180Kph once scary as.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
