Yeah, for motokhana applications the ability to have a quick stab of zero (or absolute minimum) front torque to bring the back around is a tops idea.

If you look at the Evos when they turn around cones, they almost pivot. I know that some of them have the Motec centre diff controller and they can do similar things.

You would want two buttons. On for Maximum and one for minimum front torque.

oh, and if you need a car to try it one, we have a couple!

sorry Bass these 3 are spoken for, I can put you in first for the next batch if you want...but at this stage the next batch won't have the mods for min and max torque, the guy that makes them is tight for time atm...so let me know if you would rather wait for the updated version

I need a t/s contoller and have been toying around with the same idea of running a more rwd at first at motohkanas to stop the car bogging down and also to reduce the understeer. Will save slipping the clutch to get going. A bad habit that comes from the 2stroke motorbike days. It would take a little to get used to as you have to correct the wheel to oversteer really quickly when this happens in gtr's.

If you were smart enough it could be plumbed into the steering sensor so when the wheels where close to where the car understeers it would reduce the torque split?

Hi Duncan, put me on the list for one od these once they are available again.

Cheers

Yup, same goes for me too please Duncan.

Got any ETA's at this point?

Matt.

"If you were smart enough it could be plumbed into the steering sensor so when the wheels where close to where the car understeers it would reduce the torque split?"

The attesa does that for you, the g sensors going foward and back are more sensitive, the more g force the higher the wattage signal goes to the computer resulting in more fwd. However the g sensors going from left to right reduce the wattage going to the computer as the g reading goes up, ie it becomes less sensitive the harder you corner so the gtr doesn't have the same 4wd characteristics as an evo or wrx/understeer.

This unit doesn't take "control" of the ets as such like the other units available. Its more of an electrical current amplifier? (spelling) to increase the sensitivity and performance of the existing unit, not to outright manipulate it, the higher the setting, the higher the electrical signal making the 4wd more reactive, correct?

Its an amazing idea as the system thats in place is perfect for the car, but not as reactive as I would have hoped for so this mod would be great for fixing the standard system.

With that said, put me down for one. Please pm me with more details if there are any.

Cheers, Nick.

Waiting list:

Bass Junky

R32GTR

R32 TT

ShadowGTR

Anyone else interested please post up I will allocate them in this order....will contact you for payment details when they are ready.

Yes that is the basic principle, but the output of the controller is not linear like simpler ones, this is controlled/programmed by a chip onboard instead

BTW Mark I have the controller back from Nathan, will drop it by next time I'm in the area

Im in. Contact me for payment details ASAP please.

I was so disappointed in the GTR AWD system when I took it for a hard run over the mountains, not enough FWD at all.

From what I understand, this system doesnt lock it into say a 70/30 split or a 5050 split, it meerly makes the stock system work better, eg, when you corner, it puts more power to the front wheels, what you control is how much more, correct?

Hi All, the current list is:

Bass Junky

R32GTR

R32 TT

ShadowGTR

IanB

Gun32GTR

Which leaves only one from the current batch being made......if you want it get on this list quick!

I'll send everyone details once they are ready to go :(

Duncan

I may have to pull out of this :D

After speaking to paul, I have found he makes a unit which is more suited for my needs. More expensive too, but much more customizeable.

Sorry to stuff you around! Im not sure if paul has any in stock, I believe he said he had a couple left, if he does ill grab his, but if not, I will go with this one still.

That being said, if anyone wants to take my place, they can.

    • Haha that's wholesome as! Looks like we're raising a generation of female rev heads and classic shit box owners 🤣
    • Haha nice, my kids are the same two older boys say cars are boring while younger girls like them. My 1.5yo daughter watches D1GP on YouTube with me, holding a toy plate for steering wheel and making brmm brmm noises
    • Took the car out to see if it still starts, sure does. Daughter wanted to for a spin too, she loves it when it doses, also cries when we come home and try to take her out of the baby seat 🥲  I actually put the seat in for her brother, but he absolutely hates the shitbox. Anyhow, so after looking at real boats, and transoms, bait tanks etc. and scupper valves attached to them, I came up with ideas to improve the catch can. The primary goal was to stop the interior smelling like vented catch can shit when the windows are down OR when the HVAC is not recirculated. My catch can has a sump drain/feed at the bottom, 2x cam cover inlets, 1x outlet back to the intake pipe and 1x vent at the top. The initial theory was at idle, and off boost there would be just enough suction from the intake pipe (pre turbo) to pull back any smelly shit from the catch can before it could escape out of the vent (which does have 1x layer of foam and a fine mesh screen on top). It kind of works, however on hot days, the motor is breathing more than the suction provided from the intake pipe (pre turbo) and there's a bit of vapours escaping (not a bit amount, but enough to piss me off). I could have just sealed off the vent, however it would mean each time I take it to the track or decide to drive it with a bit of enthusiasm, I would need to remove the seal. To address this, using scupper valve idea, I used a 3mm sheet of rubber and cut essentially a valve that requires a bit of pressure to crack open and vent. Took the shit box for a drive today, came back and parked the car. No heavy stench, great success ☺️ I still would swap for a F80 LCI or W204 2012+ C63 AMG, if anyone is keen 😅
    • I'm with Kinkstaah on this one. Do it once, do it right. So much better for your mental health. The sneaky thing about the fuel pump wiring is that it will work perfectly fine for the longest time. Until that one moment when it decides to shit the bed. And it's not worth the paranoia from not trusting the car anymore. At least other mechanical issues announce themselves by developing some noise or other warning. If you have the funds, I'd suggest to go with a good kit like Frenchys and get the work done by a trustworthy shop. No regrets there. The only downside to the Frenchys kit on the Stagea/R32 GTR is that their fuel level sender is not on point. But looks like the R33 kit maintains the factory sender so should not be an issue. This is what the botched setup on my Stagea looked like before it stopped working. It had melted its way quite a distance down. Glad it didn't burn down the car.   Some links I came across when I looked for solutions: Radium sells a DIY wiring kit that looks promising. I didn't buy it though, I let my workshop decide on wiring. https://www.prospeedracing.com.au/products/radium-diy-fuel-pump-hard-wiring-kit-17-0031 https://www.radiumauto.com/DIY-Fuel-Pump-Wiring-Kit-P368.aspx   You can also get cheap replacements for the locking ring depending on how mangled it looks: https://www.kudosmotorsports.com/Nissan-17343-79900-Fuel-Tank-Outlet-Locking-Ring-for-Nissan-S14-S15-BNR32-R33-R34-AWC34 There are tools for unscrewing it as well so you don't have to abuse it with a screwdriver and mallet. The Frenchys one is expensive but I'm sure there are cheaper ones.
