Seeing as no-one else has started any threads... here's mine..

I took about 1gb of pics, and managed to shrink it down to 30mb, so rather than making a thread that kills connections, I made a site for it, and split it into 7 pages so it loads easy

Link: http://www.tharaka.com/Autosalon/

Enjoy.

Umm, I dunno if you wanna make this thread the official thread or whatever..

Oh, and if you want hi-res pics, just PM or email me.

Skylines were everywhere

Oh and the "MYSHOW" S15 pumped out a whopping 110Kw !!! What huge power. They were even making excuses for it. Awww he only gives it 3/4 throttle so the gold plating doesnt go off and the only reason he is on the dyno is to get points.

Thanks, yea, I got there at around 10:45 or so, there was no-one in the line which was really good.

Then left at like 3:30 after it got boring, and you can see the line in the last photo.

wat was the ratio of skylines to other cars?

Yeah there were heaps of Skylines, at least 20. Obviously lots in the SAU stand, Fangartists and various other stands. For me the SAU stand was the best because it represented the best of what you'd call "street" machines, the kind of cars you can drive without getting too much unwanted attention.

I caught up with Paul and Scott at the SAU stand who both have great looking cars and Paul was helpful in explaining alot of things I was wondering about the R33 Series 2. Got some ideas for future mods too :)

I fogot my digital camera but there was a guy selling a CD of pics he took before the show opened, so there are lots of nice clean shots without people getting in the way. It was $20 but worth it, especially as i'm a crap photographer anyway.

So if you haven't gone, you should before it closes, and if your reading this after its closed and you wished you'd gone, you missed a great show!

And leewah(don't know if thats the right spelling) got his Dyno King crown back by 1kW, which he had previously lost to a competator at Brisbane Autosalon.

Great show..

Mike

Nice pics!

Did any1 else see the rear wheel of this car? :)

IMG_3241.jpg

Yeah, i thought the angle looked a bit farked (toe-out on the rears :( ). Even in the engine bay some piping was missing, wouldn't know why?

Nice shots there Tharaka :). Was a pretty good day overall yesterday, and congratulations to Leewah for breaking the AWKW record! Was right next to the fence on the rear-quarter of the car. Recorded the run with my cousins phone and my cousin recorded that run on his digital camera. We'll try and put em up for download. Great run there, loved the flamage! Made my day......

......Great setup SAU guys! All of your cars look terrific; great display of superb skylines!

Steve.

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
