they all got to race for SCOTY today early in the morning and as for the ANDRA rule all i have to say is...

bwaahhhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

brians MR WRX has run 10.9 twice and they dont make him put a cage they just let him run again and again and again.

TOF55T has a cage

there is more to the rules than just fitting a cage....and laugh it up all you like, the rules are their for the safety of ALL competitors.

P.S. it would have only taken one word to the ANDRA stewards and they would NOT have run....i just don't do that sort of thing...i think its up to each individual to play by the rules...cause not playing by the rules is CHEATING.....bwaahhhhahahahahahaha!!

good to see Paul out in the GTR. looked very nice, but didn't quite get the 10 you were after :D

Thanks Richard...and a big thanks to all the DIRTgarage crew who had a hand in getting the car repaired so i could at least get out there and have a bit of a bash. Could not get a clean run in so that 10 is still avoiding me...but doing a 9.2 to the 1000' mark is very encouraging. Going to pull the clutch and new gearbox out and thoughly inspect the damage. A bigger diameter slave cylinder might be needed to replace the bent one....I HATE CATS!!!!

As a spectator DYO wasnt the best either...the sight of ppl hitting the brakes near the line, and ppl backing off doesnt make for good racing...Still was a good laugh at some of the cars on static display:)

This has been my arguement all along Roy....the only time you see "proper" racing is in the qualifiers, when people are running flat out. Using "brake light insurance" is not drag racing. DYO has to go.

did you see that silver multi-staged wing...cant recall what car it was on because of the tears in my eyes from laughing so hard!

what about the 2sus GTI-R with the mural down the side depicting a police car being shot at by a guy holding an RPG launcher with a dead cop lying beside the exploding police car. I wonder if he bitches about police 'picking' on him? a class act all 'round. I hope he gets defected into oblivion.

That SEXDR car is absolute rubbish, I had a good look at it and the more I looked the more I felt like throwing up. He obviously couldn't make up his mind on what wing to get so had all 4 of them fitted :(

I think the DYO category is about the best racing will get at Drag Combat (which is quickly dieing in the ass as an event). The officials need help in matching up cars that run similar times.

If the Rotor teams weren't there i'd say without a doubt that a regular wed nite street meet has more entertaining racing than a big event like DC. I also think that a prerequisite of entering such an event should require that you have done atleast 5 passes down the 1/4. The amount of n00bs staging with their rear tyres is just pitiful.

Anyone got an update on the rotor guy that smashed headon with the K&N wall just past the finish line? Looks like the car was heading out the emergency gate at about 100mph but ended in about 500 pieces spread all over the track.

thats due to the inconsitency of different bodies though in one way.

in Vic you dont need squat to run a 10, just a powerful car and a driver, and a helmet :(

no cage or anything like that.

Maybe if all governing bodies of these things could agree to rules then it would be nice.

Its like going from one state to another with a car and it being defectable in one state but not in another

:headspin:

I asked everytime we lined up it was a dark haired bloke not the normal Red head

Red head he is great and will organise it the dark haired fellow was a tool and would shrug his shoulders and say "if you want to run get in there or leave"

(Hair colour is all i had to go on) But Red Hair is Good

if someone has names then please fill in colours

Last straw with dark hair was Grudge Racing and he still could not organise it.

Had to run Adrian instead

A guy at WSID tried to tell me I had cut in line once??? wtf? he told me to fark off and I said no way buddy I just lined up like everyone else. he says "nah you must have reversed through the scrutineering"!!!! absolute sh1t. then he says "fine then stay there, you are ruining it for everyone else" haha like a little kid. He then said if I do it again he'll ban me. I just said do what again? line up? good one you tool.

Adrian on your 11.8 pass i heard some guy yell at you "bullshit thats a stock turbo" with a laugh on your way back near staging.

But I bet he had no problem believing it on the 14.8 or DNF runs :( C0cks are everywhere at those events.

...and Roy.... If you ever get a chance to drive a RWD car capable of 9.50's, please please PLEASE jump at the opportunity. Oh, and make sure we're all there to *cough* cheer you on! :D

    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
