F*ck i can't beleive some of the people in this thread. Kryszio, u seem to be the most immature person here. Why diss someone because their financial situation is better than yours? And if your parents DID buy you a 250rwkw skyline, sorry, but that's the most absurd thing i've ever heard.

I live in a very wealthy part of Melbourne, not becase i'm wealthy, but because my folks wanted to get me out of a shithole called footscray which was ruining out lives. Having said that, i see alot of kids these days whose parents buy them expensive cars for their first. eg. HSV grange (P-Plater), brand new MX-5, one kid even got a CLK320.

These kids may not ever appreciate what they have, but whose to say they wopn't appreciate the values of hard work either? their parents would have had to work their arses off to get where they are, doesn't necessarily mean the kids are a bunch of f*kn retards who don't know the meaning of a days work.

I'm not a fan of parents buying theirs kids cars, especially high-powered cars, be they expensive or not. I'd rather the kid is bought, or buys him/herself, a $1000 shitbox and drvie it til it dies. But if the parents wanna buy them a car, let them. Like said above, would u say no if your parents gave you the keys to an R34 skyline? As if....

why accuse someone else of lying when you don't know sh*t?

Anyways, OC, good luck if you get the R32 - they seem like a good car, although european cars do incur higher maintenance costs. Saw one in springvale once - they look hella nice.

Post up some pics when you get it.

It reminds me of some guy i knew. His Dad drove a V12 Merc S-Class, Lived in Carnegie (Melbourne) in a big house.

This person was the biggest idiot i have ever known. The school did not ALLOW him to do VCE because he was too stupid.

I think it comes down to:

Hey my parents are rich, so i dont need to work or do anything...

And if your not at school, that just proves everything i said now...

"Im not bothering him about his parents buying him a car. Im bothering that he is talking crap."

I said that before, read everything before you reply...

For your information you know nothing about my financial situation... so dont comment about that. Look at my age, and im already smart enough to be owning my own investment property... and soon enough ill buy another one.

listen, i don't wanna wage war based on heresay - especially on the internet cos its goddamn frustrating when you can't smack the sh*t outta someone.

But look at at like this - his parents buying him a $60K plus car at 16 , and you having an IP at 18 on your way to a second one are both situations that some of us wish we could have, and are also both situations that people will think is bullshit.

But I'll take your word that you are in a good situation cos its you word and i'm not going to call you a liar cos i don't know you. Get it?

ok, seems to me, this thread has turned into who has what, and who doesnt have what....

( i've been following it since the first post so i know what has been said and wateva )

kryzsiu is right dude... you do know nothing about his financial situation, and from what that kid has posted up, ( that is to say he isnt bullshitting ) then we have a good enough idea of his financial situation.... if his parents are buying him a 60gran car for his first car, and his mum n dad are in real estate and law.... thats enough said as 2 his financial situation.

my parents own various investment properties and a garden decore business, so they have a fair enough income, but they didnt buy me my first car.... i worked shitty low paying jobs to get my car, only until recently when i got a job at the local abs and im makin 550 a week.... thats enough 2 pay off my car in a short time, and have the damages done to it fixed, and if i stay there long enough, go 2wards buying my own investment properties.

the point being, ok so ur a lil rich kid and ur parents are buying you a car, good for you, why brag, when obviously if you read 75% of the comments on here, 1. no1 cares, and 2. sum people will get jealous coz theyve had to work for what they have, they wrnt jst handed it, thats human nature.... it was gonna end up like this from the first post made.

I call for a thread to be closed, because i dont think anything is going to progress from it.

How can you say close my thread? Who was it that made it like this? The basis of it was u krzysiu, if you had gotten over your "bullshitting" theories, than it wouldnt be like this would it? All I wanted was some information on the Golf R32, look wat you and all the arrogant posters on this forum have done. Just give me advice or DONT POST. SIMPLE!!! Dont say close the thread cause the end result of this is your fault....

Well if you want information on the Golf R32, then you are searching in the wrong forum, join a Golf Forum.

:werd:

as previously stated by myself and someone else.

also to OC: "how can you say close my thread" and watever else u wrote in that post.... is it not obvious to you..... that your jst gonna get abused by 75% of the people that have posted???

its better for you, and pretty much everyone if this thread is closed.

2 cars that compare to the R32 Golf are the Renault Clio Sport and the Barina SRi, both a lot cheaper. And also the Focus ST70.

Can you please explain to me how a trio of FWD 4 bangers compare to a 4WD V6? They're approximately half the cost (the Barina even less) of the VW. I'd run the Clio and Focus against a Golf GTi, but not the R32.

I wouldn't even compare the Barina to the Focus and Clio, since it doesn't have the interior appointments, handling, nor power of its competitors. Those things will give an Astra SRi Turbo a run for its money; the Barina's got buckleys.

The only "hot hatch" in the R32's category is the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, since there's no STi wagon available on the Australian market. But, if you compare on cost (as most people do), its other competitors are the RX-8, 350Z, and STi.

i rekon its a chicks car though imo,

its has some impressive features, 4wd, nice power etc, but too me it will always be a sooped up chicks car lol

:werd: It does look like a chicks car but as you said some damn impressive feautures!

oi kid did u ever learn about www.google.com ? fantastic website fulll of everything from porn links to car links... :Pimp2:

god damn.... this thread is bull shit. OC, take your 2 cars, your girlfriend Schoona, and a fully licensed driver and your L plates and piss off.

if your parents know nothing about the car....why are they so hooked on buying it for you?? if they wanna buy you a car, fine, but do the mature and grown up thing and get them to buy you a shitter. i crashed my old honda (which my parents bought for me, for $200) many a time.... simply due to learning....gravel littered corners at the bottom of a steep hill after rain does nothing for braking) even my 31, i 4got to put it in gear and the handbrake didnt hold, the bastard rolled back into a pole. id hate to see a limited edition $60000 car do that

$4500 for insurance....thats sounds right....for mums and dads.

you've caused enough of a stir....and you blowing up at other members...who are older, and more mature, and smarter than you, is not a good thing.

i joined this forum in 03....my first post wasnt till end of 04. i was simply reading others posts and learning the ways of the forums. i suggest you back off and do the same.

Schoona.....if you read this. there is a thread dedicated to you mate.

    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
    • Shock tower brace is in +5Kw....LOL
