Tom, I'd guess your bad brake pedal is just more air in the lines somewhere....try more bleeding. I've never had to bleed the abs even when the lines are totally empty....not saying it can't happen just that it never has for me.

Tim, I'm using the A1RM on the rear, they work fine, excellent price but are very dusty. I think I should have chosen HP-X because I don't think I am stressing them enough to need the A1RM

yeah i did the fronts again, few bubbles came out and the pedal is much better now :P

starting to appreciate the increased braking now

Is there an of-the-shelf BMC Stopper available for the S2?

Is there a skyline model that would match?

Edit: Search function is fantastic! R33 for those who need to know

Edited by d1_drifter

dunno if this has been asked b4 but...

are the stock front rotors r34 gt (non-turbo) ones?

i was asking about gtt rotors in autobarn and they mumbled something about "are they the 292mm ones?"

i should have asked for a part number

but iirc gt brakes use a 2 pot sliding calliper too

DaveB.

How did you go with moding 954 discs and what pads did you find to use?

Missed this somehow - I haven't gotten around to organising to have them machined down again, but the plan is to do that in the next 1-2 weeks when I have some other work I need to finish; then you can be sure that I'll let you know. I think there is also a bendix equivalent pad on here somewhere for around $100 a set thereabouts? Maybe less... I will probably look that up.

hey guys does any one know the bendex number for the frount pads off a 99 RWD stagea, as mine are getting low and i cant find them on here.

There is no Bendix number for the front of the S2 Stagea. We've got them on the shelf as a custom pad, in both HPX (Bendix Ultimate equivalent) and A1RM (Ferodo DS2500 equivalent). Our part numbers and prices for the front are:

GSL009HPX $119

GSL009A1RM $179

Greg.

So are hpx for S2 Stagea on the shelf?? Pm reply put me on back order list?? If pads are on shelf pm payment details please.

Cheers.

Rear are on the shelf mate, fronts are still on back order. I'll put you on the back order list.

A1RM to suit the front and rear are on the shelf if anyone else is interested. $179 per axle set front or rear.

Regards,

Greg

Well boy`s & girl`s iam Happy with my BLACK EBC`S,

That will be interesting considering RDA don't have any stock of Reds or Yellows to suit S2 fronts anywhere in the country...

And as a premium RDA dealer we also could've sold EBC Black or Greens off the shelf, but the vast majority of people are happy to wait for the [far better] QFM's if they're not urgent for them. Why did the 'back' need to be in capital letters?

YOU MAY FEEL there a better PAD but that`s your Product,& from what i have read ROTOR`s will need replacing with one type of PAD as they EAT THEM,

Now AS I DRIVE A STAGEA i guess i have a better VEIW on WHAT IS GOOD ON MY CAR then someone guessing,

YES you sell PAD`S EBC & YOUR OWN PAD THAT YOU COME HERE TO GET SOME STOCK PAD`S SENT TO YOU .

As i had REBOND`S done here in perth as there was a TOTAL LACK OF PAD`S ,& AGAIN went to RDA & GAVE them PAD`S & ASKED for them to FIND A MATCH,SAME with ROTOR`S & THEY come to the PARTY :P:nyaanyaa: ,

As i am not a 20 yearold guy hoping to have someone find stuff for me

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
