Funny I am in the same boat

paid on the 25th June but heard nothing yet so would be interested if anyone hears as to what is happening to the shocks etc or if they know when it is expected

I dont know if SydneyKid reads this forum,.... not much activity from him.

Let me know if you need an email address/phone number to follow it up - 2 months is too long to wait.

Subject: Delivery of R33 GTR Suspension Kit for BLK33

Hi Matt,

I would like a response to this query regarding the progress of my order for a R33 GTR suspension kit.

I transferred the money late in June - some 2 months ago. You advised me delivery would be 2 weeks and since that date I’ve had no replies to any of my PMs. As mentioned in my previous PMs, I'm not busting for the bits I just want to make sure you received the money and what the expected delivery date is.

Please contact me by PM or mobile.

Cheers

Anyone know if SK is still doing this group buy???

I'd like to place an order and don't know how to contact SK as his PM inbox is full.

Any updates?

cheers.

I am in the same boat as Endorean. Keep hearing that SydneyKid has a full inbox and hearing other stories about people waiting 2 months for their gear. Pretty scary.

Anyone have an update on this Group Buy? I desperately need new suspension and this is by far the cheapest.

Thanks

Andrew

I've been trying now for approx. three months, even when I get a PM into his inbox [twice], I get no reply????I know his a busy man but..............

So I'd have to say that the Group Buy is finished, dead, kaput!!!

Pity cos I wanted it bad, the only thing I haven't tried yet is contacting SK through his business, there was a name and phone number in HPI.

I'll give it a go and see what happens, christ it gets bad when you have buyers clamoring at the door that the seller doesn't respond to.

Good luck Trident, hope you can get through to him. I know he has been posting on here every now and then, but nothing on the group buy section.

Let me know how you go, as i have money ready to go!!!!

Cheers.

We are currently suffering from out of stock on some springs, some alignment products and some shocks absorbers, which is holding up about 20 deliveries, some for over 6 weeks. So we haven't been taking new orders, it's not fair on the guys who are waiting on their stuff. Springs are gradually arriving, they are made in Europe, so delivery takes time. The bush production is getting back on stream after the amalgamation of the Noltec and Whiteline alignment products, the new combined range is called Whiteline Plus. Some are due this/next week. That leaves us with a few kits that will be waiting on selected Bilstein part numbers. I am on the suppliers case daily as many of the guys are, understandably, getting impatient and they send multiple PM's every day, this fills up the inbox faster than we can reply.

It's a temporary situation caused by a number of unrelated issues, once we are passed that we will take some new orders. The bonus is there are a number of new and improved products that we will be able to include in the various Group Buys.

Cheers

Gary

Gary/SydneyKid,

Thanks for getting back to us all. I am sure there are plenty of others who will feel better now they know what is happening.

I look forward to seeing/hearing about these new products! Cheers.

Please keep us posted, I can wait if I know that something is actually happening................but I [naturally] have to look elsewhere if I think that it is all finished.

And I can tell you, a 3,000km trip on hard Teins is not always pleasant, at least I didn't fall asleep....................lol

Hi Gary/SydneyKid,

I've got an S1 R33 GTS (soon to be turboed, but that's not really the point). The thing handles quite well, compared to a falcodore, but it's still got way too much body roll for my liking. It is pretty much a street-only car, not totally a 'daily-driver' but I just want it to handle more like a go-kart and less like a boat! I know stuff all about suspension, and just want an idea of what I'm looking at to get the thing handling like I'd like.

Cheers,

Sam.

I believe it will come back, but Garry has had a lot of issues with suppliers. He is switching to different spring manufacturers to resolve the problem in the long run, but it might take a while to get up and running again.

ahh i hope its soon my suspension is shot.....was going to get the isc coilovers promoted on the site......hearing really terrible things about aftermarket coilovers ...the roads here are shite ..they might be to stiff...

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
