so ..... can anyone tell me how to fit the damn front swaybar? And what are the best settings to use (I bought an adjustable one) - I take it neutral is the centre one - but what holes do I use to change what properties?

I usually start of with the front bar on full soft and the rear on the middle setting.

If it oversteers too much, then I move the front bar to the middle setting

If it still oversteers too much, then I back the rear bar off to the softest setting

If it still oversteers too much, then I move the front bar to the highest setting

If it still oversteers too much, then you might need some more rear camber and/or the HICAS is still working (get rid of it) and/or the rear subframe alignment kit needs to be set to maximum traction (squat)

I usually start of with the front bar on full soft and the rear on the middle setting.

If it understeers too much, then I move the rear bar to the highest setting

If it still understeers too much then you don't have enough caster/camber on the front

:D cheers :D

Sorry, I am a few days behind in my PM responses, yours is the 4th in line, I do them in the same order as I receive them.

:domokun: cheers :)

thanks for the sway bar info SK.

Oh and fyi, when I fitted the front shocks/springs, with them at the standard height that they were delivered to me (the middle circlip groove), the front was 370mm from the centre of the wheel. I had to drop it 2 circlip grooves to make it 350mm. Not sure if they have buggered up the circlip groove heights or what. I am yet to install the rear shocks.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks heaps for all your efforts too!!

Like all springs , they will settle a little bit, so make sure you check the heights after 1,000 k's or so.

swaybars are in, no other sus mods, but car sits noticeably flatter. Rear end is more predictable, can really find the limit of your tyres a bit too easily

it might just be in my head, but would it make the car a bit more "solid" over general bumps and humps? I seemed to notice on my usual roads that are a little crappy, and just going straight, the car will just be more settled over the uneven stuff. Might just be in my head :domokun:

settings i have at the moment are full hard rear, full soft front. Will wait for a track day to play with them

SK

Inbox full.

Are these in stock?

Cheers

Pete

Yep, airfreight shipment of Bilsteins arrived last week, selling fast though, so get in quick.

 Cheers :w00t:

Thanks SK.

There are no prices in the first post anymore..... Are there broken links?

Refer to this thread for the current status on links.

hey mate,

looking at getting some springs and shocks for my car.

my car is a 1999 r34 GT4 non-turbo AWD 4-door, manual

is there a bilstien/whiteline package or a bilstien/Eibach package for my car?

i know that the bottom on my struts have the eye shape instead of the fork.

you got anything or can get me anything?

also is there any info on it?

cheers luke

    • My thought is if you were just moving it forward and the upstream geometry remained the same, then no difference at all. But because the current one has the filter direct into the AFM inlet, you effectively have the best chance of a completely symmetric air flow profile upstream, and in, the AFM, whilst the aftermarket inlet thingo has a (small, to be sure) bend between the filter and the AFM. That would bias the flow to the outside of the bend (downstream of the bend) which might well reduce the size of the signal seen by the AFM, for the same total flow rate. Having said that: If you're proposing to make your inlet look like a hybrid of your existing one and the aftermarket one, such that there is no bend where the filter is clamped on... then I say it will be just fine. If there is going to be such a bend, then, if you can align the insertion of the AFM blade such that it is at right angles to the plane of the bend, then there is a better than even chance that the centreline velocity where the blade is will remain more or less the same, and the velocity will just be a little faster to the outside of that, and just a little slower to the inside. **This is not professional investment advice and you should consult a suitably qualified ouija board, tea leaves or the intestines of a goat for more accurate prognostication.
    • Hi Tao, Thanks for your reply.  It's been a while and I managed to get the valve stem seals replaced with the head on the car.  Unfortunately this didn't solve my issue, the car still smokes a lot after idling (to be honest during idle you can see a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust), same after deceleration. I will try disconnecting the valve cover breathers, do I leave the PCV valve in? By engine oil drain pipe, do you mean the turbo oil drain?
    • What about if you just give it direct 12v and earth?
    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
