Right...

Last night picked up car after having the HKS GT-RS installed. Damn thing whines like a whore off boost lol

550cc Nismo's, Z32, Splitfire coil packs and new plugs going in on the weekend. :P

Then just waiting on a tune and I'll get the HICAS lockbar put in.

You should buy my split dump for the Stag Todd, you know you want to! :)

Got the R32 running today  After i bought it 3 months ago with a blown head gasket its been nothing short of a headache, but today I got it fired up - and I couldn't be happier! now I just need to register it + wheel alignment and she will be ready to go

Quick run down;

R32 GTS4

Freshened up engine, new gaskets etc...

RB25 turbo, split dump and R34 intercooler

Standard airbox with opened up intake

Not much, but it all looks completely stock - just the way I like it

engine should be dropped out of my car tomorrow. the bolts came of the rear turbo dump pipe, locktite and locking nuts ovisly couldn't handle the power :D (crash landing in a padick probaby didn't help it). Also will fix some kinked p/s lines, oil and coolent leaks, and subframe bushes.

updates (from about a month ago)

New engine is in and the big garrett single turbo setup and all the gear, now starting to get the exterior the way i want it...

is that an after market front lip? it looks the same as the twoogle one off HPI. where dod you get it if you dont mind me asking?

Our Stagea blew a head gasket over cristmas holidays. Took a couple of days to get head off. I match port head, manifolds and dump pipe (CES 3"). Took head to machine shop and it only needed a touchup on exhausts and a plane. They took out sharp edges in ports under seats. Just waiting on vrs, head bolts and 100k service kit (timing belt etc) to turn up. I put Whiteline sway bars front & back and Apexi height and damper shocks in front last weekend. Adjustable ex. timing turned up yesterday (Az StrYder). I have a new 1" core rad. to go in. The rad. taken out is OK for a spare or cheap replacement. The car already has a full 3" exhaust. We bought a set of 18" mags a week before h/g went. Hanging to get it back together and get it tuned with Apexi AVCR assisted by Apexi 'Multi Checker'.

Got mine to the turn key point. started fine and was idling/reving well. after shutting it down to check for leaks i restarted it and if you rev it there are no misses but when it drops back to idle it stalls. any ideas?

Check for leaks (air) and correct plumbing. May have been runing in cold start then once warmed will change air paths through idle valve (if still fitted). Vacum leaks or hose on wrong may then affect idle stability.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
