GTR front bar

GTR injectors and resistor pack

Walbro 341 fuel pump

Z32 AFM

FMIC and piping

52mm Alum radiator and thermo

Trust T518z

Rays Engineering/Nismo 17x8 + 17x9 wheels. Black finish with a polished lip.

well since the drift day i put the car in my uncles shed for a few days and done a few jobs to it besides putting it all back together.

i done the cam cover gasgets as they were spewing oil out of them. put a new seal in the thermastat housing where it was leaking with 3 bond. put some new plugs in. bosch platnums. remover the coil pack cover and made a nice aluminimu plate to hold the igniter.

i am about to pull the diff out and take the shim out that i put for the drift day as it is far to tight. it is worse than a weldy. i was going to leave it int for feb 3 but i wont be running in that so ill just put it back to normal.

If anyone doesn't know what this is, it's an R31 Skyline Silhouette GTS2, but one of only 7 made for the Tas Police.

Plans....

Within a month or so: Turbo conversion. Should double the 100rwkw output.

have 2/3's of the required parts on the way, just got my new H/D clutch this morning.

did you get this from launni?

Did a compresion Test this afternoon, on a COLD engine. I know it is suppose to be warm but couldn't do it then.

So i got

Cylinder 1 = 150 psi

Cylinder 2 = 152 psi

Cylinder 3 = 153 psi

Cylinder 4 = 151 psi

Cylinder 5 = 150 psi

Cylinder 6 = 150 psi

This was on a cold, well possibly sligtly warm engine. SO looking good.

Also got some shots inside each cylinder boore (photos), all look spot on, no leaning out spots, all thesame. Plugs looked all thesame, but cylinder one, propably a bit ritcher then any other.

So all good, new ecu seams ok. Adjusted the timing to 18 degress and will see what happens. All plugs are now 0.75mm and no missfire. YEEHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well after the drag day i have been busy sorying out my exhaust and intake. my new turbo manifold just arrived and im still waiting for the intake plenum to arive. also picked up a new throttle body with TPS still attached. now i just got to find a weekend when im not busy to change it all over to the new stuff. i need to upgrade my fuel system from the standard one, anybody got any suggestions?

does anyone know this car? for sale in TAS...

Before buying the RX7 I looked at that 200SX, it was a decent thing, but the body needed work.

Talking to Health who has my old 200SX he is considering selling it.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
