i guess he just wants to show the world he can do it..............im with him...........keep at it man. Im sure 95% of people here won't be able to tell the difference when you drive by

this has become a bit of a JOP bashing thread. While this is a public forum and people are entitled to their own opinion... well perhaps negative opinions should be kept to yourselves, especially as the thread title is "what to do next, power wise" NOT "what do you guys think of my conversion?" !

he has stated that hes gone too far to abandon the project and buy a genuine GTR, and thats understandable, my gtst owes way more than a r33GTR, and i never intended it to blow out like that!

I never set out to make it look like a GTR, just a clean gtst, its completely debadged, yet funnily enough ive had many people come up to me and say "NICE GTR!!" lol

who can honestly say they have not ever blown money on something thats not worth it in other peoples opinions, or you couldve got the same result for cheaper? Maybe only then you have the right to bag JOP :(

I spent 18k on an Exa.. silly me... lol

Things do get out of hand. I just don't agree with badging it and even putting number plates on that are from another car (labelling it as something it is not.)

If I were in a VL turbo and pulled up next to an R34 GTR (or so I thought) and blew him away I would be quite excited. I think it gives all the R34 (or even GTR owners in general) a bad name.

Greg

well, power wise then. Why don't u take the gtr badges off to make the car lighter.

and for the record, i wouldn't have a problem spending 10 times what a gtr's worth on a gtst if i wanted a commfortable rear wheel drive car. We are enthusiests. GTR's don't suit everyone.

but i really dont agree with the plates and badges. i would be very embarrassed to drive that car. sorry

lol @ roy..

i dont see how it can be so bad that one would be embarrassed to drive a car that literally EVERYONE would percieve as genuine!

what about all the owners of stock GTRs? they arent that fast next to a nicely warmed up 'anything' turbo! so i think the "giving GTR owners a bad name" thing is a bit over the top. actually its kind of gay, because its silly.

hehe

From a launch they are pretty quick even in stock form. The car has to live up to its looks, each to there own. Afterall all the people in here are just voicing their opinions. All I'm saying is that I would never make a fake GTR.

Greg

Look at it this way...badge or not, people stil mistaken GTRs for GTSTs.

My car has std GTST body, colour, kit complete with GTST badges. Even SAU guys have posted who was that silver R32 GTR at Sandown etc when it was me hamming it up...i just laugh and shrug my shoulders, i should be embaressed that ppl think i would drive a woofters car like a GTR. :(

Its a piece of steel and glass, plastic and other things containing atoms, carbon and all that chemistry stuff. Embarressed driving a nice modern car with a GTR badge...hell you would have all loved my old brown Valiant with primered blue boot .... 245 HEMI POWAH!!!!!!

GTR......Stock?...........GTR?

What the? :(

LoL, man even the stockers fly.

maybe i should start a business making copy gtr badges, would make a fortune from the dreamers wanting a gtr

if ya aint got it, dont bullshit and pretend you do.

thats a go at all gtr badges on non-gtr's, not at JOP personally.

What if i started a business for dreamers trying to turn hack station wagons into performance cars...thats not a dig at anyone in particular, just how i feel about 1800kg station wagons :P

...and no i dont believe that, but i cant believe ppl get so upset by a badge, or for that matter what other people do to their own car. To me it looks like a nice car, same with your engine combo going into the wagon...but whats it matter what me or anyone else thinks?

If it aint yours, stop stressing and let him do what he wants :)

when have i ever claimed it to be a gtr or something it isn't? NEVER!

i aint got no gtr badge and i got everything from a gtr, except 3 more doors, thats all. i dont feel the need to buy gtr2nv plates or someshit :)

haha this thread has gone out of control. The guy simply wants to know what to do for his next mods, not what's everyone's opinion about the conversion/badges . . .

Jop: since alot of ppl are so up set about your badge, may be you should just take it off to get some good advise about the mods :P

To be honest your house doesn't look that flash, yet you have a 330CI, R34 GT-T which youve clearly spent alot on, a NSX you says was $120,000 and you own 60% of, and an R31 which would be worth less than the set of rims on any of the other three cars?

What the?

I must agree with MarkE's comment about your house...

If it was me with so much money and owning so many nice cars, one of the first things i would have done is get myself a decent garage to shelter the babies.

Also, what do you do for a living? I'd really like to know so i can get into the same industry :D

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
