Ok, owned pretty much nothing but V8's or turbos for 14 years and get my first speeding ticket for doing 80km/hr on the gateway e-toll lanes (60km/hr bit) in a little toyota echo on the weekend. How ironic.

They where positioned off on the staff entry northbound at the start of the bridge after the toll plaza in an unmarked car with a speed gun. Late night, no traffic, they must of been making a packet with that location. No doubt just picking off the juicy ripe plus 15km/hr targets.

I'm a responsible driver yet this does little for my respect of police priority with blatant revenue raising over targeting spots that influence reducing the road toll.

Straight up these officers were unnecessarily arrogant and rude. I can just image what these tools would of been like had I had I been in the GTR!!

Anyway, to why I'm sharing this event..... to my surprise the fine nominated (to me) reads $2.50! Me thinks they intented more!!! Photo attached.

Is this now MY sweet revenge?

Anyone with experience in these matters??

Will be interesting to see what happens when you do try to pay the $2.50, my thoughts would be that you would be $247.50 short and the people at the Dept of Transport will be asking for payment in full.

Please keep us informed!

as a worker of qld transport

if i recieved that at work, i would be asking for 250 bucks

as what we type in the computer is the offence code

which would be 2500 or 2501 something like that

the date and the amount .

if only one doesnt match, the computer will chuck a fit.

As to do with Qld transport, we only take payment

we werent the ones that had the speed gun, off the side of the road and got you speeding .

If you want to complain , contest, or argue the matter.

contact the police , as Qld Transport can't do shit.

If i was you i would be paying it, IF you KNOW you were doing that speed, as it would be a waste of time in court, and court fees.

THanks

Some good advice, but your missing the point here.

It's not about the speed or what the qld transport dep has in it's computer with code 2500 or 2501.

The cop has nominated the penalty as $2.50.

This ticket is unaltered and I'm prepared for the transport dep to go back to cop's own original issue to verify.

Maybe the cop should have used your computer, rather than putting in a dash.

I'm not paying over the counter as I wouldn't expect qld transport service centre staff to have any authority or be it access to the original.

i actually got done leaving the gateway tolls heading south bound, the cop was stationed on the white zebra lines at the first on ramp after the toll gates. (bastards) anyway i got done doing 112 in an 80 zone, i didnt see the 80 signs and though that it was 100km/hr zone bcoz u are re-entering the motorway to my suprise it was not and i was 32km over the speed limit $350 and 6 points. moral of the story dont speed out of the gateway tolls, and keep and eye out for road signs, i wasnt paying much attention at the time really as i was merging lanes. but it is bullshit where the cop was sitting, it must have been illegal for him to park there, i cant park there so why should he be able to..... that just plain sucks.

actaully the better one is the logan toll gates at stapylton rd. 91 in a 60 and $250 4 points. cop was out of view and I was going through the tolls at speed like I always do ( I have a e tag) and look up - bang. cunning spot and its marked, lit and designated as a police area. may want to look at that in your case before you try to contest it.

I give you points for thinking,

BUT

If you claim there is a mistake and Qld Transport agree.

Qld transport will forward a letter to the owning station.

They will identify the mistake.

They will then forward out a letter to you telling you that the ticket has been pulled and you will get a brand spanker with any mistakes rectified.

If they make a mistake that doesnt mean Oh OK because we put 2.50 on your ticket that is all you will pay, or I mispelt your name, we will let you off.

Go your hardest but you will not win..They dont call them BIG BROTHER FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!

yes i also detested a fine in this manor, with the wrong info on it,and they withdrew the fine and reissued ano0ther to me with correct info on it, i went to the trouble of pointing out everything on the fine that was wrong, and what it should have been and they used it against me. lol so if you write a letter of complaint against this fine , dont write on it what is wrong just state that the fioen u have recieved is incorreect, let the find out what was wrong with it, but i dare say the would then ask you what u think is so wrong with the fine, and u will have to tell them what is wrong with it.

the cop has dodgy writing, thats all! the ticket amount resembles the true amount for that fine ($250) Im only a 2nd year law student but if you were my client, id tell you to pay the fine and not waste court costs.

    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items

    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile

And this is only thing i need? No other "things" connected to the sensor or something? I do have the wiring.
