  1. Hi I currently have an R32 with an S2RB25DE from an r33 skyline with the loom and ecu already in it and I'm planning to put an S2RB25DET in at the end of the year I've read the countless number of "rb25 in an r32" threads, but i already have an Series 2 rb25 loom with the wiper wires modified to work and VCT operates perfectly etc etc but it's for the non turbo engine Is there many differences between the DE and DET looms? or should i get a DET loom and lay them both on the ground and transfer the modifications across? - I should also mention that it's for a manual transmission Thanks
  2. That subframe is absolute porn, I'm almost motivated to pull mine out and give it some well overdue loving Keep it up!
  3. Full 2.5" Remus exhaust in my skyline(non turbo), that was a cool surprise
  4. You can get a running R33 with rego and the correct motor for like 6k... If that's too much you really shouldn't be building a skyline from a shell....
  5. Haha not a problem mate, best of luck with the skyline
  6. What a car, that's just awesome! nice work
  7. Here you go! - Hardly a cost efficient option, but i want to see you eat some socks! http://nissan.epc-data.com/skyline/er33/3896-rb25de/engine/164/16603/ http://www.amayama.com/search/?q=1660010Y00 Your socks, EAT THEM!
  8. Have you replaced your fuel filter? could be clogging up
  9. Unfortunately the injectors are too big, and there's not really a way around it. The only feasable solution is to sell the injectors and get some appropriately sized ones
  10. Yeah i spotted that also, cracked rocker cover could be a big part, any clarification on that?
  11. Might crackle and pop a little bit more, found it a little more raspy on an SR but my RB seems to be a little louder. My car's cat has been gutted by the previous owner and by god does it smell, if you're behind it for long enough your eyes will start to water too
  12. Looks clean mate, welcome to the wonderful world of skyline ownership The tips i could give; Read build threads - Google part names, Google how that part works and what it does and you will suddenly start to understand things a lot more Read the forums - Places like the general maintenance forum are great for picking up things that might need attention on your own car Watch Youtube - Channels like mighty car mods are fun and usually quite helpful, videos like how to service your car and the likes are a good starter Grab some tools and start with the basics, oil, coolant etc.. even just poke around the engine bay and start identifying things and reading about how they work is a good place to start And finally don't be afraid to ask questions
  13. If he failed you for it then clearly it is Not really sure what you want to get from this thread lol
  14. http://rb26.net/index.php/guides/3-installing-a-greddy-style-plenum-into-a-rb25det few posts up
  15. The engine has to get quite a bit of air to keep revs at 5k which is why i wouldn't think it could be a sensor. there sounds like something is wrong with the throttle body causing it to stay open or a big vac leak; any bolts missing on the plenum or anything?
  16. Thanks for the overwhelming support already, I honestly thought being an NA skyline I'd be shunned a little to be honest! - Anyway, you asked for some pics! I went to Wakefield yesterday (09/09/2014) - Was a great day, and while the 2 friends who came with me both had turbo's I wasn't too far behind in terms of time! As I mentioned, I have an RB25 getting a rebuild with the following; ACL Race Bearings OEM piston Rings Tomei 256 poncams Tomei Cam Gear to replace some china brand ssprocket Full engine gasket kit Timing belt and water pump kit Head rebuilt Always fun getting a package from kudos There she is, the RB25 Head off Head going off to the machinist Stay tuned for more!
  17. Congrats on the purchase! I can't help agree with it being an "upgrade" Despite a few mentioned little problems you have it looks quite clean!
  18. Hello! I've been lurking for a while and thought i'd share with you my project! This is my 1990 Nissan R32 Skyline GTS While non turbo (p-plates) it's a lot of fun, and i get my fare share of track time in it at wakefield The car is slightly modified, including; - R33 RB25DE Engine (VCT) - R32 Turbo Brakes w/ braided lines all round - DBA T2 Slotted Rotors all round and Ferodo DS2000 Pads - R32 Viscous LSD - HSD Coilovers - HICAS locked - Enkei RPF 01 Wheels (17x9+22 [Khumo KU31 - 235-45-R17]) - GTR Front bar, Front lip, bonnet, bonnet lip, front grille, wing and headlights all genuine items - Bride Brix 1.5, Nardi deep corn and a nismo aluminium shift knob - And a few other things i've probably forgotten Over the past few months i have been preparing a turbo engine for the car, i've gone with the RB25DET from the R33 which is currently getting a refresher in preparation for the swap Thanks for reading, can't wait to dump a whole lot of photos for you guys to enjoy!
  19. It's fine, more embarrassing than anything if that bothers you at all haha
