  5. First get your car up to scratch so it doesn't die on the track day. Redo (if you have to) brakes, suspension, tyres, bushes, etc. I'd recommend changing your oil (plus filter) just before and after the track day. Don't use cheap parts on your car. I have first hand experience when the [cheap] front pads on my car died very quickly, resulting in the piston coming out of the caliper as I was thrashing around Oran Park late last year. I converted the front brakes to R33 4 pots that afternoon in the car park . (For those that went, White/grey R31 Skyline, used a hammer to create clearance for the discs hehehe). Once you do a track day, you'll be hooked! You'll learn a lot about your car and more about yourself and your driving. Look after your car during the day, don't redline every gear change if the motor isn't built for it, back off it you have to, etc. Good luck and have fun. Don't be afraid to go out and have a fang.
  6. I paid $250 for 2.5" mild steel cat-back with two mufflers (oval resonator and their Hurricane rear muffler, no tip that was an extra $100 haha) at Liverpool Exhaust, that was a while ago though (about 3-4 years). Don't know how they are now. They quoted me $300 for cat and $300 for extractors. I think the Varex muffler is about $450 yeah? I'm guessing they are also charging you for the wiring. Still $1,700+ is expensive, go second hand.
  7. Gonna bump an old thread to say this fix worked on my car. My car would run (what seemed like) okay when cold, but after it reached operating temperature, it would randomly die/not want to rev/drop revs/misfire/have a 2,500rpm rev limiter. Car initially started have some minor issues revving out and making full boost, I thought it was the CAS as it was only doing it while hot. A CAS swap did not affect the car. The car gradually got worse until it started dying randomly. I re-soldered both AFM, the soldering on the pins were a little weak. Re-sealed with Sikaflex. Thanks again for this fix. I'll attack my R31's AFM when I get some time.
  8. Just got them today, the packaging looks authentic, and so do the nuts themselves.
  9. Damn, the GT-R has camber wear on the tyres = worried about defect. Might bring the R31, haven't driven it in a while. Damn, have work tomorrow
  10. Yep! Nice clean car you got there mate. Think I spotted something yesterday evening but can't remember lol (trying to be on topic )
  11. Hahhaha $3, you should be driving an R31
  12. Penrite Sin 5W-60 vs. Mobil 1 5W-50 ? Same price at ~$70/5L I tried the Penrite, now just did an oil change with Mobil. Car feels the same. Is 5W too low though, have a R32 GT-R with a 130k km engine (most likely more)
  13. Penrite Sin 5W-60 vs. Mobil 1 5W-50 Same price at ~$70/5L
  14. Spotted a white R32 GT-R yesterday at Chatswood heading for Delhi Rd around 10am.
  15. Spotted last Sunday, an R35 parked in the World Tower carpark. Wednesday (I think, possibly Tuesday) evening, white R32 GT-R in Meadowbank, cage, noisy brakes, awesome. Also spotted a V36 in the Harbour tunnels but can't remember but it might have been Thursday afternoon. And last night at the Shell on Cowpasture Rd, white R34 V-Spec. I was in my Gunmetal R32 on all occasions
