  1. The 272 will give you the lumpy idle you're after
  2. Yeah I know how that feels, had mine since 2003 and it made 240kw until last year when I finally decided to pay to play with it
  3. Standard injectors run out of flow at around 350hp and an aftermarket ecu would be required even to reach that. Lesson that needs to learnt before even touching a bolt on these cars, nothing is cheap and if you want to play you need to pay
  4. It's the response difference as well that make the garretts better and in the long run the price isn't much different. for 300kw (400hp) you'll need a set of injectors and a fuel pump unless it's already been changed and a clutch that will be up to the task as well, plus the usual exhaust and etc
  5. Factory turbos with steel wheels put in them never perform as well as the bolt on garretts do. Instead of the -7s look into the -9s they give the same response (maybe even slightly better) but flow slightly more power
  6. They're changing hands in Australia for higher prices as well
  7. I've got S shaped ones and they are great for gtr turbos
  8. They are also shutting down insure my ride which are under the same company umbrella
  9. Actually the Aussie ones cost a lot less then the Japanese ones and work as well or better then them
  10. I know it's not required but it's my choice to have a log book and a bunch of people on an Internet forum won't be what makes me change my mind. I like the idea of having proof that I'm abiding by the rules, because I have put a lot of time, Money and effort into this car and won't be losing due to a technicality
  11. I don't know how it was ever going to be policed I just have a log book as evidence, for now my latest renewal says 10 times a month and I will be going off those rules
  12. It's 9000 a year not a month
  13. Ethanol will be our savior
  14. I looked into it at one stage but there are a lot of rules and I doubt most of us would fit into them, the main ones being *30 years or older * in a club registered for historic regos * must be close to original as possible (only safety features can be changed/upgraded)
  15. I have -7s making 348kw at the wheels and the manifold haven't be touched, I wouldn't port the manifolds until going to -5s
  16. He is talking about a gtr not a gtst
  17. They aren't suppose to screw all the way in, the fact that it widens out and won't screw all the way in is what actually seals it go to Motorsport connections (or earls) and order one from them
  18. cars seem to be really popular when they hit about the 10 year old mark, hence why the r33 was so big in the early noughties and the evo is such a big deal now.
  19. Bigger the dumps the faster it will come on boost, don't get the hks ones cause they create massive amounts of back pressure and come on really late
  20. I wouldn't pull the turbos out just to change the dumps but I wouldn't change the turbos and not replace the dumps at the same time either
  21. Yep, none of the Hoses are the correct length, barely any of them have the correct internal diameter and you can guarantee at least one is going to leak
  22. Throw it out and buy genuine hoses
  23. You will end up with less power and your fuel economy won't be as good
  24. From my understanding it's all of them cause it's to do with the euro standards
  25. My brother just bought a diesel a4 and I tried to talk him out of it for that reason but he bought it anyway
