Interested pending health of car :-)
-
no no no Then i sell the house, buy a 35GTR, and find an 18yo to have an affair with. It's part of a man's life. We have to put up with PMS, the wives have to put up with MLC (mid life crisis). I didn't ask for it, it's a part of nature

Thanks guys. One year closer to the mid life crisis!

Hands down, Kangaroo Valley. Awesome drive, and a great ice cream shop at the bottom of the valley before you head back up. Just sucks if you get stuck behind someone driving well under the speed limit.

agree 100%, and remember things like the 19" wheels are forged made by Rays, and I think lighter than the 17" wheels. If you are racing all the time, then worry more about what your going to take out of the car to make it lighter, not what extras come/don't come with the different variants.

R34 Gtr Prices -price Projections?
NISMO replied to SLY33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Very nice Eug, congrats mate! -
I've owned both, and can 100% say that for me manual was a much better drive. Hands down, no questions asked. The auto is great, but the manual is just a completely different car. I was looking for a manual and settled for an auto because a) they were cheaper, and b) couldn't find a manual in the condition i wanted. A week after owning the auto i regretted it, so sold it a few months later and bought a manual. At the end of the day, there are heaps of both examples in dealerships in the country. Test drive both, see what suits you, but again in my experience, the manual is a much much better experience.

Differences Between R32 Gtr's
NISMO replied to Black Widow's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks guys, I've had the car for a couple of days and it's unbelievable. In all honesty it's tighter and feels newer than the 2004 V35 I just sold. The engine seems in great condition, and it idles a little "lumpier" than a stock GTR so i am thinking cams of some sorts. I haven't pushed it at all but it does seem to get up and go from around 4200rpm onwards. Still has stock clutch, stock suspension, and stock exhaust. In the wheels arches the paint seems almost as clean as the outside, so it looks like it hasn't even seen rain. Interior is faultless. My only dilemma is do i leave it as is, and keep it as a rare untouched N1, or do i have some fun with it. My mind is telling me not to touch it. -
Makes it easier and cleaner. I did mine by taking the screws out on the oil drain plug side only, but it can get messy. If you're simply replacing the oil only you can leave it on, but if you doing the filter you definately need to remove at least half. And i would recommend changing the filter as well.

Did you have shipping insurance? If yes go through them. I had pics of the car sent to the insurers from the dock in Japan, and then once it got here just to cover my self. If you don't have pics and it's been in Aus for a few weeks it may be tough, but try it anyway.

Spot you nearly everyday at building C car park

Damn Rich, Stunning mate. You should go into business for a sheik or something, buying top notch cars. You seem to have an eye for them! -
Thanks Guys, I have a couple of options, will be in touch if i need to go ahead. Cheers Bobby

Hi All, Sorry for the delay. Have been flat out. Will check through details again today and update tomorrow if the GB is still go. At this stage it doesn't look like I have 20-30 definites which is a concern. The buy is coming from the US so i have to pre purchase all the units myself to get the benifit.

Personally i used Royal Purple in all my V35 changes. With a new filter came to around 5L each change. I think, but not sure i went with 10w-40or50

As per title, Reply here or drop me a PM if you have one. Will pick up in Sydney. Cheers Bobby

Thinking Of Importing V35 Coupe
NISMO replied to NissanFan's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
yep there are some cheap ones but there are also others that are in stock condition that are asking for 10-15 grand more. I would ask myself why one would be so much cheaper than the other? Also you can get some good quality cars here is Aus as well, which should be an option. You pay a bit more, but you can check the car out, get it inspected, and most importantly, drive it the same day you pay for it :-) -
My new toy. 1992 R32 GTR N1. Other than the R33 GTR wheels, in complete stock condition. Even exhaust. Full service history, all logged with only 55000k's.

See, a car is worth what someone is willing to pay. I also think for such a rare car the asking price is not so bad. As a comparison, try and find a V-spec R32, with 60000k's, logs, in this condition, and show me it's price. To me i have no problem paying for a car i like and know will enjoy. This car as said is also an N1 GTR, as the chassis code states. The engine matches the build plate so again points to N1. The whole 24U casting question i have only raised as so far all i have is peoples opinions on what is an N1 and what isn't. Nothing concrete. The only "official" check done through Nissan Fast says the car is an N1. As for not thinking clearly i have made every possible check on the car one could reasonably make. Can you suggest what I've missed? I find it odd that you're really trying to steer me away from buying this car. You've made 4 posts on this forum only and all are telling me not to buy this car. Have you seen the car? Is there something wrong with the car in your opinion, or do you expect me to turn away from a great car (decided through numerous checks) based on a theoretical situation which may have happened to you in the past and has nothing to do with this car? I am more than happy to take on everyone's opinion, after all that's why i have been a member of this forum since it started, however as said your really not giving me any reason to doubt the quality of this particular car. Rather saying it could be this, could be that. Believe me this is no rushed decision. I have owned and driven imports for many years, I am not some 17 year old hanging to buy their first import. I did that well over 10 years ago. And as said every reasonable check has been made on the car. But it's all a bit futile, I have a deposit on the car, i like the car, I'll buy the car. If it turns out not to be an N1, well then I've paid a bit more than most for an immaculate R32 GTR. Something I can live with. Cheers -
Differences Between R32 Gtr's
NISMO replied to Black Widow's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yep, can see your point, but as stated N1 or not the car itself is immaculate. I've checked as much as possible and all panels are orginal, paint depth has been checked on all panels, no sign of any damage on the undercarriage, engine compression test has been done, and all passed with flying colours. I have no concerns at all about the condition of the car. None. -

NISMO replied to Black Widow's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ah, but that's the problem, you see the engine number matches the build plate. so far everything I have seen about 05U v 24U casting stamp has been what people believe to be the case. The engine number 100% matches the build plate. and in my mind, I doubt Nissan would have built an N1 Chassis with a standard motor. It makes no sense. Either way, the car is still an exceptional car, no doubt about it. It simply cannot be faulted. Everything is original down to the exhaust. The log books trace the cars history to present and match the speed o, so on this alone to me the car is worth it. N1 or not. Also the yard in no way is pressuring me to believe anything. In fact they are leaving it to me to make my inquires. I asked them to check the casting numbers, and rightly so, they said we can say anything. Don't rely on us and check it all yourself. Hence my questions.
